19 Preparing the Camera • Since this is a lithium ion battery pack, you need not completely discharge it before recharging. It can be recharged at any point. However, since the maximum number of charge cycles is approximately 300 times (battery life), you are recommended to charge the battery pack after having discharged it completely to prolong battery life. It takes approximately 130 minutes to fully charge the battery pack from a fully discharged state (based on Canon’s testing standard)....

26 Setting the Date and Time The Date/Time menu will appear the first time the camera power is turned on or whenever the built-in rechargeable lithium date/time battery charge is low.
