Be careful when erasing \ images, because they cannot be recovered. However, protected images (= 80) cannot be erased. Deactivating Auto Rotation Follow these steps to deactivate automatic image rotation, which rotates\ images based on the current camera orientation. zzPress the button, choose [Auto Rotate] on the [1] tab, and then choose [Off] (= 23). • Images cannot be rotated ( = 85) when you set [Auto Rotate] to [Off]. Additionally, images already rotated will be displayed in the original orientation. • In Smart Shuffle (= 79) mode, even if [Auto Rotate] is set to [Off], images shot vertically will be displayed vertically, and rotated images will be displayed in the rotated orientation.

By choosing a category in filtered playback, you can restrict the following operations to all of those images. • Viewing ( = 73), Viewing Slideshows ( = 78), Protecting Images (= 80), Erasing Images (= 83), Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF) (= 137), Adding Images to a Photobook ( = 140) zzPress the button, and then choose [] in the menu (= 22). zz[Tagged as Favorite] is displayed. zzTo untag the image, repeat this process and choose [] again, and then press the button. Still Images Resizing Images Save a copy of images at a lower resolution. 1 Choose [Resize]. zzPress the button and choose [Resize] on the [1] tab (= 23). 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose an image, and then press the button. 3 Choose an image size. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose the size, and then press the button. zz[Save new image?] is displayed. 4 Save the new image. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose [OK], and then press the button. zzThe image is now saved as a new file. 5 Review the new image. zzPress the button. Still Images Cropping You can specify a portion of an image to save as a separate image file. 1 Choose [Cropping]. zzPress the button, and then choose [Cropping] on the [ 1] tab (= 23). 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose an image, and then press the button.

To crop the image based on this frame, turn the dial to switch to the other frame. zzPress the button. 4 Save as a new image and review. zzFollow steps 4 – 5 in “Resizing Images” (= 88). • Editing is not possible for images shot at a resolution of [ ] (= 37) or resized to [] (= 88). • Images supported for cropping will have the same aspect ratio after crop\ ping. • Cropped images will have a lower resolution than uncropped images. Insufficient overall image contrast is also automatically corrected, to make subjects\ stand out better. Choose from four correction levels, and then save the image as a separate file. 1 Choose [i-Contrast]. zzPress the button, and then choose [i-Contrast] on the [1] tab (= 23). 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose an image, and then press the button. 3 Choose an option. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose an option, and then press the button. 4 Save as a new image and review. zzFollow steps 4 – 5 in “Resizing Images” (= 88). • For some images, correction may be inaccurate or may cause images to appear grainy. • Images may look grainy after repeated editing using this function. • If [Auto] does not produce the expected results, try correcting images using [Low], [Medium], or [High]. Still Images Correcting Red-Eye Automatically corrects images affected by red-eye. You can save the corrected image as a separate file. 1 Choose [Red-Eye Correction]. zzPress the button, and then choose [Red-Eye Correction] on the [ 1] tab (= 23). 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons or turn the dial to choose an image. 3 Correct the image. zzPress the button. zzRed-eye detected by the camera is now corrected, and frames are displayed around corrected image areas. zzEnlarge or reduce images as needed. Follow the steps in “Magnifying Images” (= 78).
