Camera Setup (Advanced Zoom, Image Stabilizer, etc.) CAMERA SETUP
1 Option available only when the recording program is set to or (only in the [ PROGRAM AE] recording program).
2 Option available only when the mode switch is set to .3 [ ADVANCED] when [WIDESCREEN] is set to [ OFF].
[A.SL SHUTTER]: The camcorder automa tically uses slow shutter speeds to obtain
brighter recordings in places with insufficient lighting.
    • The camcorder uses shu tter speeds down to 1/30 (1/15 in mode).
    • If a trailing afterimage appears, set the slow shutter to [ OFF].
    • If (camcorder shake warning) appears, we recommend stabilizing the camcorder, for
example, by mounting it on a tripod.
[REVIEW]: Selects the time to display a stil l image after it has been recorded.
    • This menu item will not be availabl e when the drive mode ( 57) is set to
    [ CONT.SHOOT.], [ HISPEED CONT.SHOOT.] or [ AEB].
    • If you press while reviewing a still image it will continue to be displayed indefinitely. Press to return to the normal display.
[IMG STAB]: The image stabilizer compensates for camcorder shake even at full
    telephoto.
    • The image stabilizer is des igned to compensate for a normal degree of camcorder
    shake.
    • The image stabilizer may not be effective when recording in dark places with
[A.SL SHUTTER] set to [ ON] or us ing the [ NIGHT] recording program.
    • The image stabilizer cannot be turned of f when the mode switch is set to .
    • We recommend setting the image stabilizer to [ OFF] when using a tripod.
[WIDESCREEN]: The camcorder uses the full width of the image sensor providing high-
    resolution 16:9 recordings.
    • Since the screens on the camcorder have an aspect ratio of 16:9, recordings with a 4:3
aspect ratio will appear in the center of the screen with black sidebars.
