IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be fol-
lowed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
Use iron only for its intended use.
To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in
water or other liquid.
The iron should always be turned to Fill before plugging into or
unplugging from an outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet;
instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron...

TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of
the outer cover.  To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to
remove the outer cover.  There are no user serviceable parts inside.  Repair
should be done only by authorized service personnel.

NOTE: Before first use, remove any labels or stickers on the body or soleplate
of the iron.  On first use only, iron over an old cotton cloth using steps 1 thru 5
below on setting 3 or above (and the Surge button) to remove any protective
surface treatments.
1. Using a clean cup, pour water into one of the two openings in the Water Fill
Hole until the level reaches the top of on the Water Window. Do not 
overfill.  Refill as needed.

3. Plug in the iron.  For models with Automatic Shut-Off, push the ON/OFF button
and a light will come on (A).  For all models, turn the Heat/Fabric Dial to the
appropriate setting for your fabric (B). On models without Auto-Off, the light
will cycle on and off when the iron is on.  Always stand the iron on its heel
rest when powered on but not in use.
4. Use the Fabric Guide on the iron (see B) to select the proper temperature set-
ting for the fabric to be ironed (check the garment label for fabric...

the Heat/Fabric Dial to FILL,unplug, allow to cool, and store on heel rest.

STEAM IRONING
Be sure the Heat/Fabric Dial is set within the Steam area (between settings 3-7)
and there is water in the Water Tank.  Turn the Adjustable Steam Knob (D) to
the  (light),  (medium), or  (heavy) steam setting for your fabric
as indicated in the puff band over the fabric setting (see B).  If water spotting
occurs, turn the Heat/Fabric Dial to a slightly higher setting or set...
