When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce the risk of
fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, basic safety precau-
tions should always be followed, including the following:
    • Read all instructions.
    • To protect against risk of electric shock do not immerse plug,
cord, or handle in water or other liquid. Do not operate knife in
    water or under running water.
    • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by
    or near children.
    • Turn off and unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting
on or taking off parts and before cleaning. Disconnect when
    changing blades.
    • Do not install the can opener over a sink or basin or any electri-
    cal or gas heating appliance.
    • Avoid contacting moving parts.
    • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in
any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service
facility for examination, electrical repair, mechanical repair or
    adjustment.
    • The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appli-
ance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
    • Do not use outdoors.
    • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
    surfaces.

    							• Make sure operating bar safety lock is in safety position so bar cannot be accidentally activated.
    • Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always handle blades with hand away from the cutting
edge. Always store blades with cutting edge away from you. Store out of reach of children.
    • Do not operate in the presence or explosive and/or flammable fumes.
    • This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
    POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug - one blade is wider than the other. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature
by modifying the plug in any way. The detachable cord will fit onto the unit only one way. If the cord
does not fit onto the prongs, reverse it.
    ELECTRICAL CORD
The cord length of this knife was selected to reduce safety hazards that may occur
with a longer cord. If more cord length is needed, an extension cord with a polar-
ized plug may be used. It should be rated not less than 10 amperes, 120 Volts, and
have Underwriters Laboratories and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) listing.
Handle cord carefully; avoid jerking it at outlet and appliance connections.
    MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Before mounting, consider the best location for convenience and accessibility.
    1. Hold the storage bracket against the wall in the desired location. Mark the location of the screw holes.
Be sure to allow enough space for the blades above and below the bracket.
    2. Set the bracket aside and drill a 3/16” (5mm) hole through one of the marks. Check to see if the mark
is correct and level. Adjust, if necessary, and drill the second hole.
    3. If mounting the unit on drywall or plaster, push the wall anchors all the way into the two drilled
    holes.3E

    							4. Place screws through the bracket and into the anchors or wall. Hand twist to
hold, then tighten with a screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
    INSERTING THE BLADES
The blades are precision honed and are extremely sharp. Always handle blades from
the sides opposite the serrated edges. Always unplug the knife before inserting or
removing the blades from the unit. Do not connect cord or release safety button
    (READY/EJECT) until ready to use.
    1. Always use both blades together. One blade has a key hole slot, the other has
a raised rivet (A). Place the round key hole slot over the rivet, and slide the rivet
down into the narrow portion of the slot.
    2. Carefully, hold the grease guards (plastic ends) and slide the blades into
the motor handle with the cutting edges down toward the underside of the
handle. Insert the blades until they click into place (B). Plug into any
    120 volt 60 Hz outlet.
HOW TO USE1. Release the safety lock by sliding the READY/EJECT button forward to its
    unlock/ready position.
    2. To operate, press the CONTROL SWITCH (button closest to the handle).
The knife will stop as soon as the switch is released.
    3. It’s not necessary to use a back and forth motion as you guide the blades
through food. When carving thin slices, slant the cutting edge of the blade
    toward the food.
    4. Always keep the safety lock on when the knife isn’t in use. This locks it so
the knife cannot be turned on accidentally.
    5. To remove blades for cleaning, slide the safety lock button (READY/EJECT
button) back (C), press the RELEASE button, grasp the grease guards (plastic
ends), and pull the blades out.
