This product is for household use only. GROUNDED PLUG As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure whether the outlet is properly grounded. TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW A tamper-resistant screw secures the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove this screw or the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repairs should be completed by authorized service personnel only. Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel; in Latin America, by an authorized service center.ELECTRICAL CORD 1) A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. 2) Extension cords may be utilized if necessary. 7 GETTING STARTED • C\brefully unp\bck your coffeem\bker, removing \bll p\bck\bging m\bteri\bls, l\bbels \bnd/or stickers, \bnd the pl\bstic b\bnd \bround the power plug. • Register your product \bt www.prodprotect.com/\bpplic\b • Remove \bnd s\bve liter\bture. • Remove mounting h\brdw\bre \bnd templ\bte. Set them s\bfely \bside. • For w\brr\bnty verifi c\btion, do not remove cord t\bg. Do not attempt to operate appl\fance unt\fl properly \fnstalled. INSTALLING YOUR SPACEMA\fER™ CHOOSE A LOCATION When choosing your loc\btion, consider the following: • DO m\bke sure to mount within re\bch of \bn electric\bl \Foutlet. • DO consider your norm\bl work p\btterns in the kitchen when choosing loc\F\btion. • DO NOT mount over \bny he\bting or cooking \bppli\bnce such \bs your r\bnge or oven. • DO NOT mount over or ne\br \b sink. • DO NOT mount under, in front of or behind \bny under-c\bbinet light\F fi xtures. Note: If you \bre mounting multiple\F Sp\bceM\bker™ \bppli\bnces, they should not be mounted fl ush to one \bnother. Allow \bt le\bst 1” of sp\bce between \bppli\bnces \bnd 4” of sp\bce if you \bre inst\blling \b to\bster oven. This is necess\bry for \bdequ\bte cooling. Note: This \bppli\bnce m\by fe\bture \b S\bve-A-Plug™ outlet recept\bcle to connect sm\bller Sp\bceM\bker™ \bppli\bnces. Do not use this \Foutlet for \bny other purpose! If you \bre connecting this \bppli\F\bnce to the recept\bcle of \bnother Sp\bceM\bker™ \bppli\bnce such \bs the to\bster oven or coffeem\bker, m\bke sure you c\bn e\bsily unplug\F the \bppli\bnce following use. DETERMINE CABINET \GTYPE Important: Sp\bceM\bker™ \bppli\bnces \bre only recommended to be inst\blled on c\bbinets without \F\b top lip \bnd with \b fl \bt bottom. It is not recommended to inst\bll Sp\bceM\bker™ \bppli\bnces on c\bbinets with \b\Fn overh\bng. See im\bge below for recommended c\bbinet typ\Fes. \bLAT BOTTOM TOP LIPOVERHANG
8 STANDARD INSTALLATION FOR FLAT CABINETS ONLY Important: Alw\bys we\br protective gl\bsses or goggles to prevent injury when drilling. Important: Do not \blign screw holes on the templ\bte directly under the p\brtition between c\bbinets, \bs this \Fwill prevent you from inst\blling the \bppli\bnce properly. P\by close \bttention to where drill holes will b\Fe set so \bs not to d\bm\bge your c\bbinets during\F mounting. Drillin\Fg through your c\bbinet’s p\brtition m\by c\buse d\bm\bge to c\bbinets \bnd prevent proper inst\bll\btion.1. Cle\br countertop under inst\bll\btion \bre\b to \bvoid getting dust or debris on other \bppli\F\bnces or items. Open c\bbinets \bn\Fd remove contents to m\bke mounting e\bsier. 2. Cle\bn both the undersi\Fde \bnd topside of the bottom p\bnel of the c\bbinet. 3. Decide whether you will be drilling\F from the top down or from the bottom up. 4. I\b DRILLING \bROM THE B\pOTTOM UP: With c\bbinet doors op\Fen, pl\bce mounting templ\bte \bg\binst the surf\bce of the front edge of your c\bbinet. Align the thick line \Fon the templ\bte (l\bbeled “front edge of c\bbinet”) with the lower front edge of your c\bbinet (D). 5. Fold the b\bl\bnce of the templ\bte up \blong the underside o\Ff your c\bbinet, ensuring the “front edge of c\bbinet” line rem\bins \bligned with t\Fhe bottom front c\bbinet edge. 6. M\bke sure the templ\bte is smooth \bnd fl ush \bg\binst the c\bbinet’s underside. Pull templ\bte tight \bnd t\bpe down to hold in pl\bce. 7. I\b DRILLING \bROM THE T\pOP DOWN: With c\bbinet doors op\Fen, pl\bce mounting templ\bte \bg\binst the surf\bce of the front edge of your c\bbinet. Align\F the thick line on the templ\bte (l\bbeled “front edge of c\bbinet”) with the upper front edge of your c\bbinet (E). 8. Fold the b\bl\bnce of the templ\bte over into the inside of your c\bbinet, ensurin\Fg the “front edge of c\bbinet” line rem\bins \bligned with the upper\F front c\bbinet edge. 9. M\bke sure the templ\bte is smooth \bnd fl ush \bg\binst the c\bbinet’s inside. Pull templ\bte tight \bnd t\bpe down to hold in pl\bce. D E
9 Important: Alw\bys ensure you \bre drilling str\bight up or str\bight down through the m\brked mounting holes on the templ\bte. Drilling \bt \bn \bngle m\by prevent proper inst\bll\btion \bnd m\by d\bm\bge c\bbinets if the drill\F bit pierces the p\brtition. 8. Using \b 1⁄32” drill bit, drill\F from the underside of the c\bbinet up or \Fthe top down, cre\bting pilot holes through the 4 holes m\brked on the templ\bte. This will help guide t\Fhe ¼ ” drill bit in the next step. (F) 9. Switch to \b ¼” drill bit \bnd drill str\bight up or str\bight down through the holes th\bt h\bve just been cre\bted. (G) 10. Once holes \bre drilled, remove t\bpe \bnd mounting templ\bte. 11. Wipe dust \bnd debris off the \Ftop side \bnd the underside of the c\F\bbinet surf\bce. 12. Pl\bce \b w\bsher inside the c\bbin\Fet over e\bch of the 4 holes you drilled. (H) 11. Determine wh\bt size screws to use by pl\bcing \b screw through the hole in the c\b\Fbinet without the \bppli\bnce in pl\bce. The screw should be ½ ” exposed underne\bth the c\bbinet to ensure the \bppli\bnce is properly \btt\bched to the c\bbinet. Once you h\bve determined the screw size, proceed to step 12. (I) Note: Sever\bl st\bnd\brd screw lengths \bre provided but m\by not fi t \bll c\bbinet sizes. 12. Pl\bce one of the screws through e\bch of the w\bshers covering the holes in the \Fc\bbinet, from the inside of the \Fc\bbinet down. 13. Hold \bppli\bnce up to the screws, \bligning the front of the \bppli\bnce with the front edge of the c\bbinet b\b\Fse. The screws in the c\bbinet should \bli\Fgn with the mounting\F holes in the \bppli\bnce. (J) Note: It m\by require two people to ensure the \bppli\bnce is held in pl\bce while drilling. 14. Screwing from inside the c\bbinet\F down into the \bppli\bnce holes, use your drill or screwdriver to tighten the four screws in pl\bce. (\f) Note: Alw\bys tighten screws to properly secure the \bppli\bnce to the c\bbinet \bnd to ensure the \bppli\bnce does not move or sh\bke during oper\btion. F G H I J \f
10 PROGRAMMING YOUR COFFEEMA\fER SETTING THE DIGITAL CLOC\f 1. Plug your coffeem\bker into \b st\bnd\brd electric\bl outlet.\F 2. The entire digit\bl clock wil\Fl fl \bsh “12:00” to indic\bte th\bt the time h\bs not yet been set. 3. Press the HOUR \bnd MIN (\Fminute) buttons until the correct time \bppe\brs on the displ\by. *A “PM” symbol will \bppe\br to indic\bte \bfternoon time settings\F. This symbol will not \bppe\F\br for AM settings. 4. Your clock is now set. SETTING THE AUTO BREW DELAY 1. Ensure the digit\bl clock h\F\bs been set (see “SETTING THE DI\FGITAL CLOC\f” section for \bssist\bnce). 2. Press the PROG (progr\bm) button. The displ\by will fl \bsh “12:00.” 3. Press the HOUR \bnd MIN b\Futtons until they indic\bte the time you would like \butom\btic brewing to begin. *A “PM” symbol will \bppe\br in\F the upper right h\bnd \Fcorner of the digit\bl displ\by to indic\bte \bfternoon time settings\F. This symbol will not \bppe\br for AM settings. 4. The Auto Brew displ\by will fl \bsh for \b few moments before switching b\bck to the digit\bl clock.\F TIP: After progr\bmming, press the PROG button to check the preset Auto Brew time. 15. Pull out cord from cord stor\bge behind the \bppli\bnce \bnd plug into \b st\bnd\brd electric\bl outlet. Extr\b cord c\bn be fed b\bck into stor\bge or hung over cord m\bn\bgement hook behind the \bppli\bn\Fce. (L) Note: If you \bre connecting this \bppli\F\bnce to the recept\bcle of \bnother Sp\b\FceM\bker ™ \bppli\bnce such \bs the to\bster oven or coffeem\bker, m\bke sure you c\bn e\bsily unplug the\F \bppli\bnce following use. 16.
