A scraper may be used but must be used only when the blender is not running. • Blades are sharp. When blending hot liquids, removed the lid cap from the lid. Close any edge cover openings intended for pouring. • Do not blend more than 20 oz. \f GETTING STARTED • Remove all packing material, any stickers, and the plastic band around the power plug. • Remove and save literature. • Please visit www.prodprotect.com/applica to register your warranty. • Wash all removable parts as instructed in CARE AND CLE\SANING section of this manu\Sal. HOW TO USE This product is for household use onl\Sy. USING YOUR XL BLAST DRINK \fACHINE 1. Make sure your drink machine \Sis OFF. 2. Place ingredients to be blended into jar. For best results, use ice that has been out of the fr\Seezer for 10-15 minutes. Tip: Place ingredients in the following order to get the most out of your blender: • Liquid • Powders • Soft foods (like bananas or cucumb\Sers) • Hard foods (such as frozen fruit) • Ice cubes 3. Use the shot glass/measuring cup for convenient and accurate recipe measurement. Shot glass is 2 oz and is marked for 1 oz, 1.5oz and 2oz. Check out the included recipe book for fun frozen blends and cocktails using the shot \Sglass and auto functions. N\bTE: The XL Blast Drink Machine ma\Skes a suggested 6-7 blended drinks (a\Sbout 10-12oz each) \f. Place lid on jar; make sure shot glass is in place. Shot glass is secure when it slides all\S the way into the lid and is twisted clockwise. 5. Plug power cord into outlet. Press on/off button. LED should turn a so\Slid color to signify the blend\Ser is in standby mode. After 60 seconds the unit will automatically power off if no buttons are pressed. The LED will blink \Sslowly when the blend\Ser is in use. N\bTE: When in use, do not leave blender unattended. When processing hard foods, such as ice or cheese, keep one hand on th\Se lid to keep blender in pla\Sce. 6. Select the speed or \Sauto function that works best for your desired outcome. See auto functions and speed chart for drink and auto function correlations. Important: Do not hold speed b\Sutton, simply press the desired speed, watch, and press Pulse/Stop when
5 the desired consistency is achieved. Holding the bu\Stton for longer than 30 seconds will cause an e\Srror. Unit must be unplugged to reset. 7. For blending tasks – \Sor when blending t\Shick mixtures – use the PULSE button for several seconds, then release. Repeat until food has desired consistency. Releasing pulse stops the blending an\Sd the unit returns to standby. \b. Open the lid to add ingredients or add them\S through the shot glass opening. Place shot glass back in lid openi\Sng after adding ingredients. Do not use \Sthe pour spout to add ingredients Important: Do not remove the lid while th\Se blender is runnin\Sg. 9. When finished press STOP to stop blending. Make sure blades have completely stopped before attempting to remove the blending jar\S from the base (refer to troubleshooting for any issues). 10. To remove the jar, grasp the handle and \Slift up. 11. Press On/Off to power off. Unit will auto shutoff after 60 seconds without use. 12. Always unplug the applia\Snce when not in use. TO SERVE • Lift and remove the blending jar\S • Pop open pour tab • Pour and Enjoy! Keep drinks colder longer with t\lhe insulated Chill Sleeve • Insert the blending\S jar into the Chill Sleeve from the top • Pull up on the Chil\Sl Sleeve until it fits secur\Sely around the jar. There are notches for the handle and \Sspout. The measurements on the side o\Sf the jar should be visible th\Srough the opening. • Now chill! Enjoy cool drinks for hours. • To clean your Chill Sleeve, remove the blender from the sleeve and wash with warm soapy water. Hang to dry. TIPS \bOR BEST RESULTS • For a thicker blended drink, \Sgradually add more ice and use less liquid ingredients. • For a thinner blend\Sed drink, blend for longer and gradually add more liquid mixer to the jar. • Cut food and solid ingredients into pieces no larger than ¾ ” for use in the blend\Ser. • For best results when making b\Slended cocktails, use ice that has been out of the freezer between 10 and 15 minut\Ses. • Use ¾ cup of ice per serving, crush\Sed . • Do not fill blender\S more than 2/3 full with liquid\Ss. • Layer ingredients starting with liqui\Sds on the bottom, followed by fruit and ending with ic\Se. • When ingredients splatter onto the sides of the j\Sar or the mixture is very thick, turn the ap\Spliance off. Remove the lid and use a\S rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the \Sjar and to redistribute the food, pushing food toward the blades. Replace the lid and continue blending.
6 • Serve drinks in chilled\S or frozen glasses to slow down the melting process. • Start on low/slow speed and work your way up to the highest cycle. • Blending for too long makes drinks runny and thin. • When making beverages that include alcohol, please drink \Sresponsibly. • When making bread, cookie, cereal or cracker crumbs, make sure blending jar is completely dry. • The PULSE function i\Ss helpful when short\S bursts of power are needed, such as when preparing thick smoot\Shies or milkshakes. Allow the blades to stop rotating between pulses. Do not u\Sse PULSE for more than 30 seconds continuously. • To stop blending at any time, press the START/STOP button. AUTO \bUNCTIONS \bOR BLENDED \bROZEN DRINKS AND COCKTAILS This blender features four (\f) different AUTO functions for exceptional party results. To access this function, press AUTO. Once pressed, all four buttons (1-\f) will blink. Select \Sthe desired AUTO function to begin. The pre-programmed functions are: Auto 1 Margaritas Auto 2 Daiquiris Auto 3 Shakes Auto \f Smoothies Classic icy drink with small ice crystals and fruit flavor Simple blended ice cocktail with a smooth texture Thick, smooth and creamy frozen treatsBlended fruits and vegetables to a very smooth consistency • When an AUTO Function is runni\Sng, the blender wi\Sll automatically pulse and change speeds to deliver the optimal results. Wipe the blender ba\Sse using a damp cloth.\S Do not immerse the\S blender base in water. • Lift the blending \Sjar by the handle off t\She base turning counterclockwise. • Remove lid and measuring\S shot glass. • Wash removable parts by hand or in the d\Sishwasher. Place the jar on the bottom rack and the rest of the parts on t\She top rack only. CLEANING TIPS: • For quick clean up, combine 1 cup hot water and a drop of liquid dish soap in the blendin\Sg jar. • Cover and blend on me\Sdium speed for about 30 seconds. • Discard liquid and rinse \Sthoroughly. Important: • Do not place the jar parts in \Sboiling liquids. • Do not immerse the \Sbase in liquid. Wipe the base with a\S damp cloth and dry thoroughly. • Remove stubborn spots by rubbing with a d\Samp cloth and dry.
