    GROUNDING 
    INSTRUCTIONS
    this appliance must be connected to 
    a grounded wiring system.  if it should 
    malfunction or break down, grounding 
    pro\fides a safe path of least resistance 
    for electrical current, reducing the risk of 
    electrical shock.  the cord for this appli-
    ance has an equipment-grounding\d con-
    ductor and a grounding plug.  it must only 
    be plugged into an outlet that is properly 
    installed and grounded in accordance 
    with all local codes and ordinances.
     
         WARNING:
     improper connection of the equipment-
    grounding conductor can result in a risk 
    of electrical shock.  check with a qualified 
    electrician or ser\fice person if you aren’t 
    sure if the outlet is properly grounded. 
    do  not  modify  t H e P lug . if it will 
    not fit the outlet, ha\fe a proper outlet 
    installed by a qualified electrician.  this 
    appliance is designed for use on a nomi -
    nal 120-\folt circuit, and has a grounding 
    attachment plug that looks like the plug in 
    the drawing abo\fe.  make certain that the 
    appliance is connected to an outlet ha\f -
    ing the same configuration as the plug.

    Your PROheat 2X come\f in three, ea\fy 
    to  a\f\femb\be component\f: 
      Upper Hand\be

    The on\by thing you wi\b\b need to   
    a\f\femb\be your c\beaner i\f a Phi\b\bip\f 
    head \fcrewdriver.
    1.  slide upper handle onto lower handle. 
    2.  	screw 3 screws into the marked holes.
    3.  	Place upper hose rack onto back of 
    upper handle, and secure with screw.
    4.  	Place lower hose rack onto back of 
    upper handle by pushing in and sliding 
    down until it snaps into place.
    5.  	snap tools into the tool caddy.
    6.  Wrap power cord and flex hose.
    7.  	Keep flex hose snugly in place by using 
    the hose secure latch.

    in mind.
    Bui\bt-in-heater feature 
    BISSELL PROheat 2X mode\b\f a\b\b feature 
    a patented bui\bt-in heater which wi\b\b 
    heat the hot tap water you put in up 
    to 25 degree\f hotter to \fafe\by optimize 
    c\beaning effectivene\f\f. The heater wi\b\b 
    never a\b\bow the temperature to exceed 
    190 degree\f. The heater \fwitch on the 
    front of the machine contro\b\f the heater 
    \fo you have the option to turn off the 
    heat if you are c\beaning de\bicate woo\b

    Cu\ftom C\bean™
    The Cu\ftom C\bean feature automatica\b\by 
    mixe\f hot tap water with the BISSELL 
    formu\ba. Simp\by choo\fe one of the 4  
    \fetting\f (heavy traffic, norma\b c\bean, 
    \bight c\bean, or water rin\fe) and the 
    PROheat 2X wi\b\b adju\ft the right 
    amount of c\beaning \fo\bution to mix with 
    the heated water to fit your c\beaning 
    need.
    Thi\f feature i\f avai\bab\be on a\b\b PROheat 
    2X mode\b\f, either behind the 2-in-1 
    water tank or on the upper hand\be. 
    Having a \feparate \fo\bution tank from 
    the water tank a\b\fo a\b\bow\f no wa\fte of 
    formu\ba. Becau\fe the water and \fo\bu -
    tion are \ftored \feparate\by, they are not 
    mixed unti\b you are ready to c\bean. 
    When your c\beaning job i\f fini\fhed, the

    The two DirtLifter PowerBru\fh ro\b\b\f are 
    de\figned to enhance c\beaning perfor-
    mance. The bri\ft\be pattern \fafe\by \bift\f 
    out the deep down dirt whi\be gent\by 
    grooming carpet fiber\f. The f\boating 
    \fu\fpen\fion \fe\bf-adju\ft\f to a\b\b carpet 
    height\f and protect\f your carpet if you

    Our 2-in-1 water tank fu\b\b capacity \fy\ftem 
    i\f de\figned with a heavy duty b\badder 
    in\fide for c\bean water. A\f you c\bean, the 
    c\bean water in the b\badder wi\b\b empty  
    and mix with the c\beaning formu\ba. Dirty   
    water pu\b\bed out of your carpet\f wi\b\b   
    co\b\bect around the out\fide of the b\badder 
    \fo that c\bean and dirty water are a\bway\f 
    kept \feparate. Thi\f a\b\bow\f the u\fer to on\by 
    carry one tank to and from the \fink for

    Before you c\bean
    1. Move furniture to another area if 
    cleaning an entire room (optional).
    2.  Vacuum area  with a dry \facuum 
    cleaner thoroughly before deep cleaning.
    3.  Plan your cleaning route to lea\fe an exit 
    path.  it is best to begin cleaning in the   
    corner farthest from your exit.  
    4.  Pretreating  (optional)
    Pretreating is recommended to impro\fe 
    cleaning effecti\feness for hea\fily soiled 
    carpet in high traffic areas such as   
    entryways and hallways. 
      BISSELL Tough Stain PreTreat
    A.  spray the  bissell tough  stain 
    Pre-treat formula onto hea\fy traffic 
    areas, soiled areas, or stains.
    B.  allow to penetrate for at least 3 minutes.
    C.  clean as normal, using the  bissell 
    P\b oheat 2X machine on the high   
    traffic setting, following the   
    instructions below.
    ATTENTION: s ome  berber carpets ha\fe a 
    tendency to fuzz with wear. 
    \bepeated strokes in the same 
    area with an ordinary \facuum 
    or deep cleaner may aggra -
    \fate this condition. Please see 
    s tain \bemo\fal instructions on 
    page 15.

    Carpet c\beaning
    1. fill the 2-in-1 Water  tank. \bemo\fe the tank 
    from the base of the machine by lifting up 
    the tank carry handle.  carry like a bucket 
    to the sink.
    1a.  unlatch the top of the tank from the 
    bottom by lifting up on the tank latch 
    located on the back of the tank.
    1b.  \bemo\fe the top of the tank by lifting up 
    on the handle. 
    Note how the \bip on the top tank 
    \feparate\f from the groove in the 
    bottom tank. Thi\f p\bacement i\f 
    important when putting the tank 
    back together.
    1c. fill the hea\fy duty bladder with clean 
    hot tap water. 
    Do not boi\b or microwave water 
    a\f it can de\ftroy the b\badder. 
    1d.  lea\fing the filled bottom of the tank on 
    a flat surface, only maneu\fer the top of 
    the tank.  to attach the top part of the 
    tank to the bottom, carefully hook the lip 
    on the top tank into the groo\fe on the 
    bottom tank.
    1e.  fasten tanks together by securing the 
    latch in the back.
    Note: Remember to \fecure the tank 
    \batch in the back and te\ft to make 
    \fure it i\f \fecure before picking up 
    the tank.
    2. \bemo\fe formula tank from back of 
    machine. 
    3.  fill the formula tank by first unscrewing 
    the cap and insert.  always use genuine 
    bissell  2X formulas to maximize clean -
    ing and for the safety of your machine. 
    f ill with water to W ate\b line and then 
    fill up to  fo\bmula  line with  bissell 2X 
    concentrated formula. \beplace formula 
    tank.
    4.  set  custom  clean  dial.  simply choose 
    one of the 4 settings (hea\fy traffic,   
    normal clean, light clean, or water 
    rinse).
    5.  set \beady tools  dial to the floor cleaning 
    setting.
