    t\fe only tool you’ll need to a\b\bemble your vacu -
    um cleaner i\b a P\filip\b \fead \bcrewdriver. 
    Attach hand\be to vacuum
    1.  Locate the vacuum handle and remove 
    the screw pac\fet taped to the base of the 
    handle.
    2.  \btand the vacuum upright and slide the base 
    of the handle firmly into the grooves at the 
    top of the vacuum body.
    3.  Chec\f to be sure the handle is fitted to the 
    vacuum body. If there is a gap in front, con-
    tinue to push firmly until the handle is flush.
    4.  Insert the screw provided from the screw 
    pac\fet into the existing hole. Tighten secure-
    ly with a screwdriver.
    Attach vacuum hose and too\bs
    1. Attach the Twist ‘n \bnap™ hose by lining up 
    the tabs on the base with the corresponding 
    notches on the bac\f of the vacuum.
    2.  Turn the Twist ‘n \bnap hose to the right to 
    loc\f the hose into place.
    3.  Grasping the Quic\f Reach handle, slide the 
    end of the hose wand onto the hose wand 
    base. \bnap the hose into the hose clip.
    notE:  t\fe Powerfoot will not \buction   
    properly unle\b\b t\fe \fo\be wand i\b   
    firmly attac\fed.
    4.  \blide the extension wand and the crevice 
    tool together into the storage holder.
    5.  \bnap the combination tool into the storage 
    clip.
    6.  Attach the TurboBrush by aligning the small 
    holes near the brush roll with the tabs at 
    the bottom of TurboBrush housing. \bnap 
    TurboBrush into place.

    Hand\be position
    Press the handle release pedal with your foot 
    to place your BI\b\bELL vacuum into one of three 
    cleaning positions.
    1. 
    Uprig\ft 
    For storage and above floor cleaning with tools.
    2. normal cleaning 
      Press handle release pedal once. Use for most 
    household floor cleaning tas\fs.
    3. low cleaning 
      With the vacuum in normal cleaning position, 
    press handle release pedal again, use for   
    reaching under low furniture such as tables,   
    chairs or beds.
    Height adjustment
    t \fere are five \feig\ft \betting\b available for vari -
    ou\b floor \burface\b.  turn t\fe dial on t\fe foot of t\fe 
    cleaner to t\fe de\bired \betting.
    l owe\bt \betting – For low pile carpet or bare 
    floor\b.  to pick up debri\b it may be nece\b\bary to 
    move up one \betting.
    Medium \betting – For medium pile carpet.
    h ig\fe\bt \betting – For \fig\f pile and mo\bt \b\fag carpet.
    note: For optimal carpet cleaning   
    performance, adju\bt to t\fe lowe\bt practical 
    \betting.  If your cleaner i\b difficult to pu\b\f, 
    adju\bt to t\fe next \fig\fer \betting.
    If t\fe dial i\b difficult to turn, tilt t\fe cleaner back 
    \blig\ftly to take t\fe weig\ft off t\fe foot w\file turning.
    Transporting c\beaner
    1.  To move your cleaner from room to room, put 
    the handle in the upright position, tilt the clean -
    er bac\f on its rear wheels and push forward. 
    2.  The cleaner can also be moved by using the 
    carrying handle.

    t\fe be\bt cleaning, continue to vacuum until t\fe 
    green lig\ft remain\b con\btantly illuminated. 
    Operation
    caUtIon: b efore u\bing your vacuum, 
    make \bure t\fat t\fe dirt con -
    tainer i\b in locked po\bition and 
    t\fat all filter\b (inner circular, 
    outer circular, pre-motor and 
    po\bt-motor) are in place. Do 
    not operate your vacuum wit\f -
    out t\fe\be filter\b.

    Be\fore cleaning under 
    low \furniture, check 
    area \first \for objects 
    that might harm the 
    unit or block the

    t \fe  clean Filter Indicator tell\b you w\fen airflow 
    in t\fe vacuum i\b reduced due to dirty filter\b or 
    a clog in t\fe \fo\be.  t\fe  clean Filter Indicator 
    will remain green until t\fe airflow i\b reduced.

    i\b fully red, t\fe airflow i\b \bignificantly reduced 
    or blocked. Follow t\fe \btep\b on page 9 to clean 
    your filter\b.  all filter\b in t\fe vacuum \b\fould 
    be cleaned or replaced w\fen t\fe  clean Filter 
    Indicator turn\b red.
    If t\fe indicator remain\b red after all filter\b \fave 
    been cleaned, follow t\fe \btep\b on page 12 to 
    c\feck for and clear clog\b.

    1.  Raise handle to upright position.
    2.  Grasp the Quic\f Reach handle and lift hose 
    wand to separate from suction inta\fe opening.
    3.  Attach tools by firmly pushing onto vacuum 
    hose or extension wand.

    Two types of cleaning tools are included in one 
    attachment. Rotate for desired tool. Use brush 
    side to dust furniture, blinds, boo\fs, lamps, 
    shelves and baseboards.

    Po\fer cord
    t\fe power cord i\b located on t\fe rig\ft of 
    t\fe vacuum. Gently pull out t\fe power cord, 
    watc\fing for t\fe yellow line. Stop pulling t\fe 
    power cord once t\fe yellow line i\b vi\bible. 
    t\fere i\b al\bo a red line, w\fic\f indicate\b t\fe 
    end of t\fe u\bable cord. Do not pull t\fe power 
    cord out beyond t\fe red line. 
    Automatic cord re\find
    your vacuum i\b equipped wit\f an automatic 
    cord rewind. W\fen cleaning i\b fini\b\fed, pre\b\b 
    t\fe power button  oFF and gra\bp t\fe plug to   
    di\bconnect from t\fe electrical outlet.  hold t\fe 
    plug and pre\b\b t\fe automatic cord rewind   
    button to rewind t\fe cord automatically.
    t o maintain maximum cleaning performance, t\fe 
    following maintenance \btep\b mu\bt be performed:
    1.  Empty the dirt container when the dirt 
    reaches the “Full” line on the side. 
    2.  Chec\f the inner and outer circular filters and 
    the pre-motor filter at least once a month 
    and clean or replace as needed.
    3.  Chec\f and replace the HEPA media 
    post-motor filter as needed.
    note: More frequent filter cleaning or 
    replacing may be nece\b\bary if you are   
    vacuuming new carpet, fine du\bt, or \fave 
    allergy concern\b. Follow t\fe in\btruction\b on 
    t\fe following page\b to perform t\fe\be \bimple 
    maintenance \btep\b.
    Empty Dirt Container
    t \fe dirt container need\b to be emptied w\fen 
    t\fe dirt reac\fe\b t\fe “Full” line on t\fe \bide of t\fe 
    container.
    1.  Turn power off. Unplug cleaner from 
    electrical outlet.
    2.  \blide the Loc\f ‘n \beal lever to the "Unloc\f" 
    position.

    3. Grasp dirt cup portion handle and pull 
    straight out to remove from vacuum.
    4.  Empty dirt into garbage container.
    5.  Put the dirt container bac\f in the vacuum 
    and slide the lever to the "Loc\f" position.
    note:  t\fe dirt container may be wa\b\fed in 
    warm water wit\f a mild detergent.  Make 
    \bure it i\b completely dry before replacing.

    C\beaning the inner & outer circu\bar fi\bter
    U\be only genuine bISSE ll \btyle 16 replacement   
    filter\b in your  bISSE ll vacuum.
    1.  Turn power off. Unplug the cleaner from 
    electrical outlet.
    2.  Remove the dirt container as described in 
    the previous section. Grasp the filter cup 
    located at the bottom of the dirt container, 
    lift up and out.  Do noT TRy To  PULL 
    CIRCULAR  FoAm FILTER oUT oF  THE FILTER 
    CUP  WHILE  IT I\b  \bTILL  In THE v ACUUm.
    3.  Grasp the plastic tab on the top of the circular 
    foam filters. Twist to unloc\f and pull out.
    4. 
    \beparate the outer foam and inner pleated circular 
    filters. Wash each individually by hand in warm 
    water.  mild detergent may be used if desired. Rinse 
    well, then air dry thoroughly before putting them 
    bac\f together and replacing in filter cup.
    5. The filter cup may be washed in warm water 
    with a mild detergent.  ma\fe sure it is completely 
    dry before reassembling with filters.

    The upper tan\f and louvers may also be wiped 
    clean with a damp cloth. Reach underneath 
    the upper tan\f and turn the rim of the louvers 
    to left to unloc\f. Pull straight down to remove. 
    ma\fe sure all parts are dry before replacing.
    7. To replace louvers lift bac\f into upper tan\f. 
    Place top of louvers inside clear center cavity 
    and turn toward the right to unloc\f until tabs fit 
    into notch. Continue to turn to right until tight.

    C\beaning the pre-motor fi\bter
    1. Unplug the cleaner from electrical outlet.
    2. 
    The pre-motor filter protects the motor from debris. 
    It is located underneath the filter cup in the center 
    of the round part of the Loc\f ‘n \beal lever.
    3. Remove the small round filter and any debris 
    on top of it. Rinse well under warm water, then 
    air dry thoroughly before replacing.
    Rep\bacing the post-motor fi\bter
    U\be only genuine  bISSE ll \btyle 16 (#32076) 
    replacement filter\b in your  bISSE ll vacuum.
    1.  Unplug the cleaner from electrical outlet.
    2.  The post-motor filter assists in the filtration 
    process to return clean air to the room. It is 
    located behind the door on the side of the   
    vacuum. When the filter becomes dirty, open 
    the door, remove the filter and replace.   
    The white, pleated HEPA media filter is not 
    washable.
    note:  a ba\bic wa\b\fable po\bt-motor   
    filter wit\f reduced filtration i\b available if 
    de\bired.
    Checking rotating f\boor brush and drive be\bt
    y ou \b\fould c\feck your vacuum cleaner’\b rotating 
    floor bru\b\f and drive belt regularly for wear or   
    damage.  you \b\fould al\bo clean t\fe bru\b\f and bru\b\f 
    end\b of \btring\b, \fair, and carpet fiber\b.  t\fe\be can 
    wrap around t\fe bru\b\f and alter it\b ability to effec -
    tively clean your carpet.  al\bo remove any debri\b t\fat 
    \fa\b accumulated under t\fe bru\b\f cover.
    1.  Turn power off. Unplug cleaner from 
    electrical outlet.
    2.  Place handle in low position and turn 
    vacuum cleaner over so bottom side is up.
    3.  Remove the five screws with a Phillips head 
    screwdriver. Lift the brush cover off.
    4.  Grasp rotating floor brush at both ends and lift.
    5.  Clean strings, hair and other debris from 
    rotating floor brush, paying particular   
    attention to brush ends.
