Maintenance & Care Replacing the post-motor filter Use only a genuine BISSELL replacement post-motor filter in your BISSELL CleanView vacuum. 1. Unplug the cleaner from electrical outlet. 2. The post-motor filter assists in the filtration process to return clean air to the room. Replace the post-motor filter every three to si\b months. To access the post-motor filter, remove the filter tray located \felow the Easy Empty dirt tank. When the filter \fecomes dirty, push the filter through the \fottom of the tray to clean or replace the filter. NOTE: The pleated post-motor filter may NOT be washed with water or detergent. If dust and/ or debris accumulates on the filter, gently tap the filter on the side of a garbage container. Checking rotating floor brush and drive belt You should check your vacuum cleaner’s rotat- ing floor \frush and drive \felt regularly for wear or damage. You should also clean the \frush and \frush ends of strings, hair and carpet fi\fers. These can wrap around the \frush and hamper its a\fility to effectively clean your carpet. Also remove any de\fris that has accumulated under the \frush cover. 1. Unplug cleaner from electrical outlet. 2. Place handle in low position and turn vacuum cleaner over so \fottom side is up. 3. Remove the si\b screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Lift the \frush cover off. 4. Grasp rotating floor \frush at \foth ends and lift straight out of the vacuum foot. Slip off the \felt. 5. Clean strings, hair and other de\fris from rotating floor \frush, paying particular attention to \frush ends. 6. Clean strings, hair and other de\fris from motor pulley and drive \felt areas. 7. Check drive \felt carefully for wear, cuts or stressed areas, and replace if necessary (see instructions on following page). 8. Check air passageway for o\fstructions. Remove de\fris from this area. www.BISSELL.com 11 Motor Pulley4. 8. 2. Air Passageway Post-Motor Filter 3. Brush Cover

With rotating floor \frush removed from vacuum cleaner (steps 1-4 of Check rotating floor \frush and drive \felt), grasp old drive \felt and remove from motor pulley. Discard old drive \felt. 3. Place new drive \felt over motor pulley and stretch other end over rotating floor \frush in the space \fetween the \fristles. 4. Place ends of rotating floor \frush down into slots on sides as shown. 5. Turn rotating floor \frush \fy hand several times in the direction of motor pulley. If properly installed, drive \felt will center itself on rotating \frush. 6. Reposition the \frush cover and screw all si\b screws \fack into place. Clearing a clog Low suction or poor pickup may \fe due to a clog in the vacuum cleaner. If you notice a change in the sound of the motor or a reduction in the spinning action of the dirt or \frush roll, check for clogs. 1. Unplug cleaner from electrical outlet. 2. Remove Easy Empty dirt tank from vacuum \fase and empty dirt and de\fris. 3. Remove inner cyclone from Easy Empty dirt tank (see page 10) and check for de\fris \fuild-up or clogs in the upper tank. 4. Grasp the hose wand to separate from the hose wand \fase. Check for a clog in the \fase, the wand or within the hose. 5. Remove the screw attaching the hose wand \fase to the vacuum. Straighten the hose wand \fase and check for clogs with a long, narrow o\fject such as a \froom stick. Do not use sharp o\fjects like a clothes hanger, as these may puncture the hose. 6. If the clog persists, follow the instructions for Checking the rotating floor \frush on page 11 and inspect the air passageway for o\fstructions. 12 Maintenance & Care WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power switch off and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. 3. 4. 5. 4.
