The only tool required for this procedure is a black stick (or other nonconductive plastic or nylon 
tool).
Preliminary Steps
Before you begin, remove the following:A

LCD display pane

Removing the Ambient Temperature Sensor Cable
Note the cable routing from the left speaker to the logic board. The cable tucks under the 1. 
tab on the CPU fan.
 
Disconnect the cable from the sensor board on the speaker and the connector on the logic 2.  
board. Note: The cable is offered separately as a service part.

Replacing the Ambient Temperature Sensor Cable
Connect the cable to the sensor board on the left speaker and to the logic board.1. 
Replace the front bezel.2.  
Clean and replace the glass panel3. . Note: This step is very important. Follow the procedures 
to ensure the glass is clean and free of particles.
Replace the access door

Removing the Ambient Temperature Sensor
1. Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor cable from the logic board, and remove the left 
speaker if you haven’t done so already.
Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor cable from the left speaker.2.  
Use a black stick to remove the sensor from the adhesive on the side of the speaker.3.

Replacing the Ambient Temperature Sensor
Attach the temp sensor to the left speaker. Connect the temperature sensor cable to the 1. 
sensor.  Replace the left speaker and speaker screw.
Connect the temperature sensor cable to the logic board connector.2.  
Replace the display panel3. .
Replace the front bezel.

Removing the Optical Drive Fan 
With a black stick, pry off the metal clip covering the optical cable connector. 1. 
Disconnect the optical flex cable connector from the audio board.2.  
3. Disconnect the fan cable from the logic board (to the right of the optical cable connector).
