 Display Shield 3. Notice the U-shaped notches on the sides of the bezel. 
4. Remove the four 3.5-mm long Phillips screws (two on each side) from the display 
shield. (Move aside any cables or tape that partially block access to the screws.)

5. Peel up the tape that holds the shield to the bezel brace.   
6. Note the LCD panel cable routing. Peel up the tape.

 Display Shield 7. Peel up the tape that anchors the folded mesh strip of the LVDS cable to the shield.
Important:  The mesh strip threads from underneath the display shield through a 
small slit in the shield. Make sure the strip is arranged the same way w\
hen 
reassembling the display.

8. With the tape around the borders of the shield loosened or removed, lift up the shield, 
being careful not to bend it. Be careful if the foil tape catches on the LVDS cable.
9. Install the replacement display shield and tape, and reassemble and test the  computer.

Important:
 Although the display pictured in this section may appear different from the 
display you are working on, the steps are the same.
1. Place the display assembly face down on a soft cloth.

 LCD Panel 3. At the lower left corner of the display, remove the tape from the LCD cable to the 
inverter board.
Important:  Be sure to route the cable in the same way when installing an LCD panel\
. 
Important:  Note that the final placement of tape in this corner overlaps the bezel\
 
brace, microphone cable, antenna cable, LCD cable, LCD panel, and displa\
y shield.

Warning:  When lifting the LCD panel, be careful not to strain the LCD cable.
Carefully lift up the LCD panel, pivoting it where it is still connected\
 to the inverter by 
the 2-pin LCD connector.   
5. Disconnect the 2-pin LCD cable from the inverter board, and remove the LCD panel.

 LCD Panel 6. Install the replacement LCD panel, and reassemble and test the computer.
Replacement Note:  When servicing the display, you may encounter more than one 
version of the LCD panel. The replacement instructions, however, are the\
 same for 
all versions of the display.
