Preface
Dear Friends of ANSCHÜTZ,
You  have  made  a  good  choice,  now  that
you have decided to buy an ANSCHÜTZ
product.  The  many  great  results  obtained
with  ANSCHÜTZ  rifles  by  shooters,
participants in the Olympic Games as well
as in World and European championships
made  your  choice  easy,  as  your  rifle  has
benefited  from  our  great  experience  of
making fine sporting and target rifles since
1856. World-wide, ANSCHÜTZ rifles are
respected  because  of  their  fine  accuracy,
impeccable  design  and  immaculate
workmanship. Should you still be unaware,

Please read carefully the following articles
before using the ANSCHÜTZ LaserPower.
It is extremely important that you become
thoroughly familiar with this product and its
operating  characteristics.  This  instruction
leaflet  is  extraordinarily  important.  Make
sure that it is always with the ANSCHÜTZ
LaserPower especially when it is sold, lent
or otherwise given to a third person.
Only use as follows
The    ANSCHÜTZ  LaserPower  training
device  is  exclusively  meant  for  shooting
on the biathlon target. A green light shows
if you hit the aim. It can be reset via the
remote  control.  The  5  target  biathlon
panel is designed to register a laser pulse
of  class  1.  The  aiming  distance  is  10  m.
The  current  diameter  of  the  targets  is
based  on  the  current  regulations  for
summer biathlon (version of June 2004).
Additional  copies  of  this  booklet  can  be
ordered.
The  ANSCHÜTZ  LaserPower  has  been
properly designed, tested and fitted with
the  utmost  attention  to  safety.  However,
any  mechanical  device  can  fail  and  no
such device can prevent accidents caused
by  carelessness  or  thoughtless  handling.
ANSCHÜTZ cannot control the handling
of the product once it has left the factory.

General handling
Although it can be assumed that shooters
are familiar with the following rules we
would like to emphasize them once again
for reasons of safety.
1. The ANSCHÜTZ LaserPower must not be
subjected to rain, snow or any other kind of
humidity. Therefore dry your hands before
using the product.
2. Do not store the  ANSCHÜTZ LaserPower
in  places  in  which  it  is  subjected  to  high
temperatures,  direct  sun  light,  extra-
ordinarily  much  dust,  excessive  cigarette
smoke and mechanic vibrations or shocks.
This could cause a malfunction.
3.  Do  not  open  the    ANSCHÜTZ
LaserPower. It does not contain parts which
need  any  maintenance  through  the
operator. Leave maintenance works only to
qualified personnel.
4. If there are any malfunctions, smoke or a
strange smell during the operation, have the
product  also  checked  by  qualified
personnel.
5.  No  foreign  bodies  must  get  into  the
device,  especially  when  you  change  the
batteries. If foreign bodies or liquids enter
the mechanism, remove the batteries and
have  the  product  checked  by  qualified
personnel before you use it again.
6. Never put any objects into the device,
especially no metallic objects. You risk an
electric  shock  or  a  malfunction  of  the
product.7.  If  you  do  not  use  the  ANSCHÜTZ
LaserPower for a longer time, remove the
batteries  to  avoid  any  damage  due  to
leaking or corroding batteries.
8.  Do  not  put  any  heavy  objects  on  the
devices.
9.  If  the  ANSCHÜTZ  LaserPower  directly
comes  from  a  cold  into  a  warm  room,
humidity might develop inside the device.
In such a case the devices might not work
properly.  If  you  operate  the  ANSCHÜTZ
LaserPower for the first time or if you bring
it from a cold into a warm room, wait for
about one hour before you use it.
10.  Always  treat  the  ANSCHÜTZ
LaserPower with utmost care and make sure
that it does not topple down.
11.  Only  use  original  ANSCHÜTZ
accessories.
12. Even if the  ANSCHÜTZ LaserPower is
not a rifle in the sense of firearms regulations
make sure that the muzzle always points at
a safe direction. Never aim at other people.
13.  Your  ANSCHÜTZ  rifle  has  been
carefully  built  and  inspected  by  skilled
technicans to provide maximum efficiency.
The  service  life  depends  on  the  owner’s
care following this instruction leaflet.
Liability
1.  ANSCHÜTZ  does  not  assume  any
responsibility, guarantee or payment
of damage claims for damages of any
kind  resulting  from  the  disregard  of  these

instructions,  non-qualified  treatment  or
repair, modification of parts, the use of non-
original ANSCHÜTZ spare parts, incorrect
handling  or  care,  negligence,  removal  of
the  knot  varnish  or  unauthorized
modifications.
2.  The  wood  of  the  stock  has  been  very
carefully  checked  by  factory  inspectors
prior to shipment and has been determined
to  be  free  of  defects.  Certain  kinds  of
abuse, such as a dropping or falling down
can cause damage to the wood equipment,
for which the owner is solely responsible.
We  also  assume  no  responsibility  for
defects  resulting  from  inappropriate
transportation  (mail,  plane,  etc.).  Please
immediately  contact  your  forwarder
without delay in such a case and make
your claims in written form.

Rifle
•Screw off rail (battery compartment) at
the lower end of the stock.
•Insert both batteries and make sure that
the poles are correct.
•Screw-on rail.
Biathlon target
•Screw-off lateral knob counter-clockwise.
•Insert the 6 batteris and make sure that
the poles are correct  (+ pole on the side
of the knob).
•Screw-on knob.
Remote control
•Screw-off remote control cover.
•Insert both batteries and make sure that
the poles are correct.
•Screw-on battery cover.
Only use batteries of the same brand and
type. Always change all batteries at a time
(do  not  insert  old  and  new  batteries).
Batteries  are  not  domestic  waste.  Please

deposit  them  at  the  referring  recycling
stations.
        Attention
The service life of the batteries in the
5-target panel depends very much on the
use. It is possible that the batteries will have
discharged within 1 or 2 days.
The  target  can  also  be  operated  via  the
mains. Please only use original ANSCHÜTZ
6 V mains adapter (Item No. 716.1000),
which  is  especially  adjusted  to  our  laser
targets.  The targets are equipped with a
reverse battery protection, i. e. that when
the mains adapter is plugged in the current
flow of the battery is switched off. Thus it is
not necessary to take out the batteries, when
the mains adapter is used.
Shooting
•First switch on the target by switching the
lateral button to “1“.
•Press the loading lever at the rifle and
release the trigger.
A green light shows you that you have hit
the target. The target can be reset via the
remote control. Direct the remote control to
the target and press the red button.
Safety
The lateral trigger safety can be actuated
in  cocked  condition.  The  rifle  is  in  safe
condition when the safety button is in the
back position.
Panel reducer
The panel reducer can be attached to
the biathlon panel via velcro
fasteners. Stick two of the 8 deliverd
vecro fasteners each together. Now
remove the adhesive foil of one side and
stick the 4 velcro pairs in the corners of the
panel. Now also remove the adhesive foil
from the upper side of the velcros and
stick the target reduction on the 4 pairs
in the corners. It is now possible to remove
and attach the panel reducer at any time.
Adjusting the laser
The laser is pre-adjusted to a distance of 10 m.In  the  case  of  changing  distances  we
recommend  to  use  a  rear  sight  of  the
ANSCHÜTZ accessories. The laser is then
adjusted with the help of the rear sight.
Cleaning
Make sure that the inner barrel is always
free of dirt, dust, snow etc. Use a soft, dry
cloth for cleaning. If the product is very dirty
dip  the  cloth  in  a  mild  soap  or  cleaning
agent.  Dry  the  surfaces  with  a  soft  cloth.
Never  use  abrasive  agents  or  sponges,
alcohol,  paint thinner, petrol or other kinds
of cloth treated with chemical substances
as this might damage the surfaces.

Warranty
A warranty of 2 years will be issued. Parts
which are subjected to wear are not part of
this  warranty.  In  the  case  of  warranty  we
substitute the defective parts free of charge.
Cases of warranty will only be accepted if
the  article  in  question  and  the  corres-
ponding  purchase  receipt  plus  filled-in
warranty card are presented. Warranty will
not be accepted if changes or repair works
have been carried out by persons who are
not authorized, if the ANSCHÜTZ product
is  not  used  correctly,  if  unlawful
modifications or manipulations have been
carried  out,  if  any  knotting  has  been
damaged  or  if  non-ANSCHÜTZ  original
parts  were  used.  Additional  components
must only be used if they have been checked
by ANSCHÜTZ before and if they do not
impair the safety of the product.
In addition a damage to your ANSCHÜTZ
product is not subject to warranty if it is due
to an ignorance of this instruction leaflet or
improper  care  or  treatment.  When
dispatching  your  ANSCHÜTZ  product,
please  follow  the  referring  legal
regulations.
