OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR AL-KO SECURITY DEVICE FOR AKS 2004/3004 STABILISERS INTRODUCTION The AL-KO Security Device is effective against the following: a Uncoupling from the towing vehicle b Coupling onto another towing vehicle c Theft of the Coupling/Stabiliser from the trailer/caravan. The AL-KO Security Device can also remain fitted to the caravan whilst the caravan and car are hitched together. This alleviates the need to stow the device when travelling as it remains fitted to the stabiliser. This ensures that stops, (e.g. at motorway service areas) are less stressful, allowing you to enjoy your stop without the need to ‘guard’ your caravan. MAINTENANCE Clean strain bolt, and the cutaway portion in the locking brackets if they become dirty. A little grease may be applied but remove excess with a cloth so that only a thin film remains. For general lubrication use a Graphite based spray powder. Operate the locking cylinder periodically, if the cover has not been used for a while. If the lock only operates with difficulty, spray the cylinder with WD 40 (or similar). APPROVAL This product holds full TUV approval. WARRANTY Product warranty is given in accordance with S10, Clause 1-7 of the General Terms of Business and is usually 12 months from date of purchase. Fig 1 AL-KO Security Device

Part No. 1389609 Iss. 4 07/12 OPERATION 1 Pull stabiliser lever to the ‘up’ position (Fig 2). 2 Place the AL-KO Security Device over the coupling handle and lower into bracket sections keeping the Security Device in a horizontal position. Slide the Security Device forward until the small ‘lug’ at the front locates into the open slot of the Stabiliser. 3 Place the key into the lock and turn to the left and push in. 4 Remove key and swing the dust cover over the lock to protect against dirt. 5 Push stabiliser lever to ‘down’ position - it’s now operational. 6 Removal takes place in reverse order, turning the key to the right. AL-KO SAFETY BALL AL-KO recommends the use of the AL-KO Safety Ball to complement the AL-KO Security Device. The Safety ball is inserted into the coupling area of the Stabiliser, before the AL-KO Security Device is locked into position (Fig 3). This prevents your caravan from being coupled to any other tow hook or smaller towball and being towed away.
