The  glass  shelf  above  the  fruit  and
vegetable  compartment  should
always  remain  in  position,  to  ensure
fruit  and  vegetables  stay  fresh  lon-
ger.
The remaining storage shelves can be
adjusted to various heights:
Pull the storage shelf forward until it
can be tipped up or down and remo-
ved.
To insert at a different height use the same procedure in reverse.
Adjustment for tall goods:
Remove the front half of the two-part vario glass storage shelf and insert it
at  a  different  level.  Space  is  thus  gained  for  storage  of  tall  goods  on  the
underlying storage shelf.
Variable Inner Door
The  door  compartments  can  be  pulled  up  and  removed,  and  inserted  at
other positions as needed.


Holiday function
The  holiday  function  sets  the  temperature  at  +15°C.  This  function  allows
you  to  keep  the  refrigerator  shut  and  empty  during  a  long  holiday  period
(e.g. the summer holidays) without the formation of a bad smell. 
1. To turn on the holiday function, press button (C).
2. Press  several  time  button  (C)  until  the  letter  “H”  (Holiday)  appears  on  the
temperature  indicator.  Now  the  refrigerator  is  in  the  “holiday”  function  in
the energy-saving mode.
The fridge compartment must be empty with holiday function on.

•  Para  tal,  puxar  a  prateleira  para  a

• Para colocar a prateleira num outro nível, é favor proceder pela
• Retirar a parte frontal da prateleira de vidro variável, composta por duas
partes, e introduzila num outro nível. Assim, fica-se com espaço para arru-
mar produtos mais altos na prateleira situada por baixo desta.
Porta de interior variável
• Sendo necessário, as prateleiras da porta podem ser retiradas, puxandoas
para cima, e introduzidas noutros níveis.
Refrigeração dos alimentos 
Para obter um melhor rendimento do seu aparelho: reparta as provisões de
maneira a que o ar possa circular, facilmente, à volta delas;
• não  introduza,  na  caixa,  alimentos  ainda  quentes  ou  líquidos  em  evapo-
ração;
• cubra os alimentos, de especial modo se são aromáticos;
Conselhos para a refrigeração
Carne  (de  qualquer  tipo):envolva  esses  alimentos  em  sacos  plásticos  e
coloque-as na divisão imediatamente acima das caixas para legumes.
O período de conservação é de 1 a 2 dias, no máximo.
Alimentos cozidos, pratos frios, etc:coloque-os, bem cobertos, numa pra-
teleira qualquer.
Frutas e legumes: nas caixas de legumes depois de lavados.
Bananas, batatas, cebola e alho, se não forem preparados, não se conser-
vam no refrigerador.

Switching off the appliance
To switch off, hold down the ON/OFF button for approx. 3 seconds. This will
result  in  a  countdown  from  "3"  to  "1"  taking  place  in  the  temperature
display. On reaching "1" the fridge will switch off. The temperature display
will go off.
If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period:
1. Remove all refrigerated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice trays.
2. Switch off the appliance, holding down the ON/OFF button until the display
goes off (see above).
3. Remove the mains plug or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.
4. Leave the door open to avoid the build up of odours.
Defrosting
RefrigeratorFrost  is  automatically  eliminated  from  the  evaporator  of  the  refrigerator
compartment  every  time  the  motor  compressor  stops,  during  normal  use.
The  defrost  water  drains  out  through  a  trough  into  a  special  container  at
the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates.
Fresh food refrigeration
To obtain the best performance:
• do not store warm food or evaporating liquide in the refrigeator
• do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour.
• Position food so that air can circuiate freely round it.
Useful hints:
Meat(all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelf above
the vegetable drawer(s)For safety, store in this way only one or two days
at the most.
Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed
on any shelf.
Fruit and vegetables:these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the
special drawer(s) provided.
Butter and cheese:these should be placed in special airtight containers or
wapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos-
sible.
Milk  bootles: these  should  have  a  cap  and  should  be  stored  in  the  bottle
rack on the door.
Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not packed, must not be kept in
the refrigerator.

Regime de fériasNo regime de férias, a temperatura TEÓRICA do frigorífico é regulada para
+15  °C.  Este  regime  permite-lhe  deixar  o  frigorífico  vazio  fechado,  em  vez
de  aberto,  -  sem  que  se  verifique  uma  formação  de  cheiros  ou  de  bolor  -
durante uma ausência mais prolongada (p. ex. férias). Vanta-gem:
a  porta  não  poderá,  assim,  fechar-se  acidentalmente  ou  ser  fechada,  por
descuido, por pessoas que tenham eventualmente acesso à casa, durante a
sua ausência. Sem o regime de férias, isso daria origem à formação de chei-
ros e de bolor.
1. Para activar o regime de férias, premir a tecla „+“ (MAIS QUENTE) ou a
tecla  „-“  (MAIS  FRIO).  A  indicação  de  temperatura  é  comutada  e  mostra,  a
piscar, a temperatura teórica actualmente ajustada.
2. Premir a tecla „+“ (MAIS QUENTE) por tanto tempo, até que a indicação
de  temperatura  indique  H  (Holiday).  A  temperatura  indicada  muda  até  +8
°C  em  passos  de  1  °C.  Após  +8  °C,  vem  o  valor  +15  °C  e  na  indicação  é
mostrada a letra H. Agora o frigorífico encontra-se em regime de férias, que
proporciona uma economia de energia.
3  Para  colocar  novamente  o  compartimento  frigorífico  em  modo  de  fun-
cionamento normal, carregue na tecla „-“ (MAIS FRIO).
Atenção!  Não  coloque  produtos  no  frigorífico  enquanto  ele  estiver  a  fun-
cionar no regime de férias. Neste modo de funcionamento, a temperatura é
regulada para cerca de +15 °C. Esta temperatura é demasi-ado elevada para
géneros alimentícios.

For  hygienic  reasons  the  appliance  interior,  including  interior  accessories,
should be cleaned regularly.
Warning!
• The appliance may not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Dan-
ger  of  electrical  shock!  Before  cleaning  switch  the  appliance  offand  rem
ve the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker
or fuse.
• Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accumu-
late in electrical components, danger of electrical shock! Hot vapours can
lead to the damage of plastic parts.
• The appliance must be dry before it is placed back into service.
Attention!
• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g.
– lemon juice or the juice from orange peals;
– butyric acid;
– cleansers which contain acetic acid.
Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.
• Do not use any abrasive cleansers.
1. Remove frozen food and the food from the refrigerator. Wrap frozen food
in several layers of newspaper. Store it in a cool place, well covered.
2. Switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off
or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.
3. Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm
water. Commercially available dish washing detergents may also be used.
4. After cleaning wipe with fresh water and rub dry.
Accumulation of dust at the conden-
ser  increases  energy  consumption.
For  this  reason  carefully  clean  the
condenser  at  the  back  of  the
appliance  once  a  year  with  a  soft
brush or a vacuum cleaner.
5. Check  the  water  drain  hole  on  the
rear  wall  of  the  fridge.  Clear  a
blocked  drain  hole  with  the  aid  of
the  green  peg  in  the  pack  of  acces-
sories included with the appliance.
6. After everything is dry place applian-
ce back into service.

COOLMATICTecla COOLMATIC
A  função  COOLMATIC  destina-se  à  refrigeração  rápida  de  maiores  quanti-
dades de alimentos no frigorífico, como p. ex. bebidas e saladas, por ocasião
de uma festa.
0 1. A função COOLMATIC é activada, preminda-se a tecla COOLMATIC. O
indicador amarelo acende-se.
A função COOLMATIC proporciona agora uma refrigeração intensiva.
Para tal, é ajustada automaticamente uma temperatura TEÓRICA de
+2 °C. Após 6 horas, a função COOLMATIC desactiva-se automatica-mente.
A temperatura TEÓRICA anteriormente regulada é de novo
adoptada e a indicação da temperatura visualiza novamente a temperatura
momentânea do frigorífico.
2.  A  função  COOLMATIC  pode  ser  desactivada  manualmente  em  qualquer
altura, executando novamente, pela mesma ordem, os passos acima descri-
tos para a ligação da função COOLMATIC.Descrição do aparelhoO  frigorífico  e  o  congelador  podem  desligar  independentemente  um  do
outro.
1. Para desligar o aparelho, manter a tecla LIGAR/DESLIGAR premido duran-
te  cerca  de  5  segundos.  A  indicação  da  temperatura  executa  um  "Count
down", contando por ordem decrescente de "3" a "1". Ao chegar a "1" o apa-
relho desliga-se. A lâmpada da indicação da temperatura apagase.
Nota:
O ajuste do aparelho não pode ser modificado com a ficha fora da tomada
ou se houver falta de energia eléctrica. 
Após a ligação à rede, o aparelho retoma o estado em que se encon-trava
antes de ser desligado da corrente.
Se  pretender  pôr  o  aparelho  fora  de  serviço  por  um  período  de  tempo
mais prolongado:
0 1. Desligar o aparelho premindo, para tal, a tecla LIGAR/DESLIGAR duran-
te cerca de 5 segundos.
2. Retirar a ficha de ligação à rede da tomada ou desconectar o fusível.
3. Descongelar o congelador e limpár o aparelho a fundo (ver capítulo
"Limpeza e conservação").
4. Deixar, por fim, as portas abertas para evitar maus cheiros.

Energy Saving Tips•  Do  not  install  the  appliance  near  cookers,  radiators  or  other  sources  of
warmth. High ambient temperatures cause longer, more frequent opera-
tion of the compressor.
• Ensure sufficient air circulation and exhaust at the appliance base and at
the back wall of the appliance. Never cover air vent openings.
•  Do  not  place  warm  foods  into  the  appliance.  Allow  warm  foods  to  cool
first.
• Only leave door open as long as necessary.
• Do not set temperature any colder than necessary.
•  Keep  the  heat  emitting  condenser,  the  metall  grille  on  the  rear  wall  of
your appliance, always clean.
What to do if ...Correcting Malfunctions
A  malfunction  may  be  caused  by  only  a  minor  fault  that  you  can  rectify
yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on
the  appliance  if  the  following  information  does  not  provide  assistance  in
your specific case.
Warning!Repairs to refrigerators/freezers may only be performed by
qualified  service  engineers.  Improper  repairs  can  give  rise  to  significant
hazards for the user. If your appliance needs repairing, please contact your
specialist dealer or our Customer Service.

Nota:  Do  ponto  de  vista  científico,  é  suficiente  uma  temperatura  de  +5  °C
para a câmara frigorífica e -18 °C para o armazenamento de produtos con-
gelados.
Se as teclas não voltarem a ser premidas, depois de concluída a regu-lação
da temperatura, o indicador da temperatura comuta após um breve perío-
do  de  tempo  (aprox.  5  seg.)  e  mostra  novamente  a  temperatura  REAL,
actualmente existente no frigorífico.
O compressor é ligado, funcionando automaticamente.
Nota: Ao modificar-se o ajuste, o compressor não entra imediatamente em
funcionamento, caso o descongelamento automático esteja em execução.
Importante! Verifique se a temperatura de armazenamento é mantida,
controlando regularmente o indicador de alarme vermelho e o indicador
da temperatura.

Indicador da temperaturaO indicador da temperatura pode mostrar várias informações.
• Durante o funcionamento normal, é indicada a temperatura actualmente
existente no frigorífico (temperatura REAL).
• Durante a regulação da temperatura, é indicada, de forma intermitente, a
temperatura regulada no momento (temperatura TEÓRICA).
• Se houver uma avaria no aparelho, aparece no indicador da temperatura:
–  um  rectângulo  na  parte  superior  do  indicador  da  temperatura  quando  a
avaria diz respeito ao compartimento frigorífico,Antes de colocar o aparelho em funcionamentoAntes de conectar o aparelho à rede eléctrica e utilizá-lo pela primeira vez,
caso  o  mesmo  tenha  sido  transportado  na  posição  vertical,  deixe-o  de  pé
por 30 minutos. Se ele, porém, tiver sido transportado na posição horizon-
tal  (deitado),  deixe-o  de  pé,  antes  de  utilizá-lo,  por  4  horas,  afim  de  que  o
óleo possa retornar ao compressor. Caso contrário, o compressor pode vir a
ser danificado.
1. Por favor, antes do primeiro uso, limpe o interior e todas as peças do apa-
relho (vide capítulo “Limpeza e conservação").
2. Retirar o acumulador de frio do tabuleiro de congelar ou da gaveta supe-
rior.
3.  Só  colocar  o  acumulador  de  frio  numa  prateleira/gaveta  para  congelar,

°C, deixando-o congelar.
4. Após cerca de 24 horas, colocar, então, o acumulador de frio na parte da
frente do tabuleiro ou em uma gaveta.
5.  Congelar  do  mesmo  modo  o  acumulador  de  frio  descongelado,  p.  ex.,
depois de limpar o aparelho.Colocação em funcionamentoO frigorífico e o congelador podem funcionar e ser regulados independen-
temente um do outro.

This  appliance  was  designed  for  household  use  and  was  manufactured  in
accordance  with  the  appropriate  standards.  The  necessary  measures  in
accordance  with  appliance  safety  legislation  regulations  (GSG),  accident
prevention regulations for refrigeration appliances (VBG 20) and the regu-
lations of the German Society of Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observed in
the manufacture of this appliance.
The refrigerant circuit has been checked for leaks.
This appliance is in accordance with the following EU guidelines:

Changing the light bulb
Warning!There is a risk of electric shocks! Before changing the light bulb,
switch off the appliance and unplug it, or pull the fuse or the circuit breaker.
Light bulb data: 220-240 V, max. 25 W
1. Unplug the mains plug.
2. To change the light bulb press on the
rear hook and at the same time slide
the  cover  in  the  direction  indicated
by the arrow.
3. Change the defective light bulb.
4. Refit the light bulb cover.
5. Put the refrigerator back into opera-
tion.

A regulação da temperatura efectua-se através dos teclas „+“ (MAIS QUEN-
TE) e „-“ (MAIS FRIO).
Estas teclas estão ligadas ao indicador da temperatura.
•  Premindo-se  uma  das  teclas  „+“  (MAIS  QUENTE)  ou  „-“  (MAIS  FRIO),  o
indicador da temperatura comuta da temperatura REAL (indicação de tem-
peratura  acesa)  para  a  temperatura  TEÓRICA  (indicação  de  temperatura  a
piscar).
•  De  cada  vez  que  uma  destas  teclas  é  premida,  a  temperatura  TEÓRICA
avança mais em 1 °C.
•  Não  sendo  premida  nenhuma  tecla,  o  indicador  da  temperatura  comuta
automaticamente para a temperatura REAL, após um breve período de tem-
po (aprox. 5 seg.).
Temperatura TEÓRICA significa:
Temperatura que deve haver no frigorífico ou no congelador. A temperatu-
rateórica é indicada por algarismos a piscar.
Temperatura REAL significa:
A  indicação  de  temperatura  mostra  a  temperatura  momentânea,  realmen-
teexistente  no  frigorífico  ou  no  congelador.  A  temperatura  real  éindicada
por algarismos acesos de forma constante.
