Initial Camera Setup 
 
Installing the Battery  Installing Memory Card 
 
To Charge the Battery: 
 Insert the battery as shown above. 
 Power off the camera. 
 Connect the camera using the supplied 
USB cable to the computer’s USB port or 
to the AC Adapter (which is then 
connected to a standard wall socket). 
 The charge light will turn off when the 
battery is fully charged.

Main Camera Modes 
Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. 
You can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera after the camera has been 
powered ON. 
 Photo Capture Mode 
 Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera. 
This is the default mode when the camera is powered ON. 
To take a picture, aim your camera as desired and press the Shutter button.

Computer System Requirements 
To be able to download photos and videos to your computer using the “Vivitar® Experience 
Image Manager” Software, you will need the following minimum configuration:  
 
WINDOWS OS 
 Microsoft® Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 or Windows 7 
 Pentium® 4 processor (or above)
 
 1GB of RAM, 250 MB available hard disk space

Charging the Lithium Battery 
Only use the Lithium Battery that is included in the packaging. 
Upon first use, make sure the battery has been fully charged. 
 
To charge the battery: 
1) Make sure the battery is inserted properly according to the polarity. 
 
2) Make sure the camera is powered off. 
3) Follow one of the two charging methods below: 
Charging Method One: Charge connecting the supplied USB cable to your computer

Charging Method Two: Charge connecting the supplied USB to the supplied AC Adapter 
 
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on your camera. 
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to the AC Adapter and then plug the AC Adapter 
into a power socket. 
- The LED charge light is on while the battery is recharging.
