    Protect
    Toggle the protection status of the selected image.  When the images are protected, they
    cannot be erased until unlocked.  However, the protected images can be lost if the memory
    card (SD card or MMC) is formatted by the camera.
    1. Set the dial knob to 
     .
    2. Press the menu button.
    3. Press  the 
     or   button to select PROTECT and press the ENTER button, the following
    sub menu is displayed.
    4. Press the 
     or   button, to select the image to be protected.
    5. To protect image, press the ENTER button to toggle image protected on/off.
    The protected image is indicated by 
      icon on the LCD monitor.
    6. Toggle the menu button to exit from the menu mode.

    Print Setting
    Print setting allows you to select and mark images for printing.  The camera also lets you
    specify the number of copies to print for each selected image.  When you insert your
    memory card to a DPOF-compatible printer, only the marked images will be printed.
    [PRINT SETTING]
    Enables you to set the print setting.
    1. Set the dial knob to 
     .
    2. Press the menu button.
    3. Press  the 
     or   button to select PRINT SETTING,
    and press the ENTER button, the following sub menu
    is displayed.
    4. Press  the 
     or   button to select one of the PRINT SETTING sub menus (SELECT/DATE
    PRINT/QUANTITY).
    [SELECT]: allows you to select the image to set the print setting.
           Press the 
     or  button to select the desired image.
    [DATE PRINT]: allows you to include date imprint on the image.
        Press the 
     or  to select if the captured date is printed or not.
    [QUANTITY]: allows you to select the image quantity from 1 ~ 99.
     Select the image quantity  you want to print by pressing the 
     or 
                                     button.It is indicated by  icon.
    [CLEAR ALL PRINT SETTINGS]
    If the memory card has the images that have already been set the print setting, this menu is
    displayed.
    Press the 
     or  button to select YES/NO option.
    If you select YES and press the ENTER button,
    all the print settings in the memory card are cleared
    and the “PRINT SETTING” menu is displayed.If you
    select  NO and press the ENTER button, the print
    settings in the memory card are not cleared.
    Then the Playback main menu is displayed.
    Note:
    You need to clear the old print settings that have been set in the memory card before you
       set the new print setting.
    The images with the  icon cannot be erased.  You need to clear the print setting
       before erasing the images.

    SETUP MENU
    This feature allows to set up the default settings for using this camera.  The settings are held in
    memory even if the camera is turned off.  By switching the dial knob to SETUP, the SETUP
    MENU appears.  You can select the each setting item by pressing the 
    or   button.
    DATE SETTINGSets the Time and Date
    CARD FORMATTINGFormats the Memory Card
    LANGUAGESets On-screen Display Language
    LCD BRIGHTNESSAdjusts LCD Monitor’s Brightness
    BEEPTurns On and Off the Sound

    Date Setting
    Set the date, time and date display option.  It can hold the information when the camera’s
    power is turned off by pressing the power button.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press the 
      or   button to select DATE SETTING
    and press the ENTER button, the following
    sub menu is displayed.
    3. Press the 
     or   button to select the item(YEAR/MONTH/DAY/HOUR/MINUTE/OPTION)
    to set, and press the 
      or   button to set the value for each  item.
    4. Press the menu button to confirm the changes on DATE SETTING.

    Card Formatting
    Format the card in the camera.  This will erase all data stored in the card.  For more detail
    information, please refer to page 14.
    Language
    Set the on-screen display language of menus displayed on the LCD monitor.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press  the•
     or    button to select LANGUAGE,
    and press the ENTER button.
    3. Press the 
      or   button to choose one the desired language.
    LCD Brightness
    Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor.  It  can be adjusted within the range [-3] to [+3],
    interval of 1.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press the 
      or    button to select LCD BRIGHTNESS.
    3. Press the  
     or    button to change the value.
    Beep
    Set whether or not to sound the beep tone.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press  the•
      or   button to select BEEP.
    3. Press the  
      or    button to toggle the option:
         [ON]: Sounds the beep tone according to the operating state or operation.
         [OFF]: Does not sound the beep tone in any state.

    Auto Shut Off
    If no operation is carried out for a fixed amount of time, power consumption is set to its
    minimum state (power almost turned off) to prevent battery wear. This setting allows you to
    set the time when the camera turns off automatically. To return to the normal state after the
    Auto Shut Off has been executed, press the Power button to turn the power on again.  When
    the camera power is supplied by an AC adapter, the auto shut off is fixed at 5 minutes.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press  the•
      or     button to select AUTO SHUT OFF.
    3. Press the  
       or      button to choose one of the following options:
                 [1 MIN] : Auto power off after 1 minute
                 [3 MIN] : Auto power off after 3 minutes
                 [5 MIN] : Auto power off after 5 minutes
    Note:
    This function is not activate in the PC mode.
    Video Out
    Set  the video/TV output system according to the country in which your camera used.
    1. Set the dial knob to SETUP.
    2. Press  the 
     or   button to select VIDEO OUT.
    3. Press the 
      or    button to toggle the option:
    [NTSC]: NTSC system
    [PAL]: PAL system

    TRANSFERRING PICTURES TO THE COMPUTER
    Before you can transfer the pictures from the memory card to your computer, you need to
    install first the camera software into your computer.
    (Driver installation: Applicable only on Windows 98 and Mac OS 8.6)
    System Requirements
    Before installing the camera software, make sure your computer meets the following system
    requirements:
    Windows 98/2000/Me/XP, Pentium 166 MHz or higher for PC Users
    Mac OS 8.6/9.0/9.1/X, Power PC CPU for Macintosh Users
    Color monitor (800 x 600 24-bit or higher recommended)
    Available USB port, CD-ROM drive
    80 MB available hard disk space
    At least 32 MB RAM
    Installing the Software (Driver & Image Application)
    1. Insert your camera’s Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive.
    2. The installation program starts. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the camera
    software installation.
    3. Restart your computer.
    Connecting the Camera to Your Computer
    Your digital camera comes with a USB cable that you can use to connect the camera to
    your computer.
    1.Plug the smaller connector of the USB cable into the USB port on your camera.
    2.Plug the other end of the USB cable to your computer’s USB port.
    Note:
    Since downloading pictures eats up battery power fast, use the AC power adapter whenever
    you are transferring pictures to your computer.

    Downloading Pictures
    Once you have properly connected the camera to your computer, you are now ready to
    transfer pictures.
    1. Make sure the USB cable is properly connected between your camera and computer.
    2. Turn on your camera’s power.
    The camera gets into the PC mode regardless the dial knob position.
    3. To access the pictures on the memory card:
    If you are using Windows, double-click My Computer on the desktop. You will then see a
    drive labeled “Removable disk”. Click that drive letter.
    If you are using Macintosh, double-click the “ untitled ” disk on the desktop.
    4. Double-click the DCIM folder.
    5. To copy the picture files:
    Double-click the existing sub folders. Then, drag and drop the image files to the desired
    location on your computer’s hard disk.
    Note:
    While the camera is connected to your computer, the camera will not allow you to take
    pictures. You will also not be able to view pictures on the camera.

    Warning and Error Messages
    Error Message Related the Memory Card in the Playback Mode
    If the card error occurs in either the Capture mode 
     or the Playback mode  , the
    following icon is displayed according to the situation on the background.
         ICONStatus                                                                                              MODE
    It is displayed when the card is not inserted into the camera.
    It is displayed when the “unknown” card (the camera cannot
                             recognize it) is inserted into the camera.
                             It is displayed when the card contains no image is inserted
                             into the camera.
                            
     It is displayed when the card that is fully recorded is inserted
                             into the camera.
    It is displayed when the image cannot be displayed for any
                             reason (for example, the image is broken, etc.).
    Warning Messages
    Warning messages will be displayed according to the camera status as the following table.
