When you enable Security Lock a Register Password dialog box appears: You can only use the following cursor buttons, in the password fields. Press the cursor buttons five times in any order and con-firm to set the password. When the password is enabled, it must be entered every time after you power on the projector. See “Setting an Ac-cess Password (Security Lock)” on page 13 for steps on setting the password. Disable ResetPress Enter or to reset advanced feature settings to default values— Note: If Security Lock is enabled, you must enter the password every time the projector is turned on. How- ever, if the projector is already turned on, Security Lock can be disabled without knowing the current password.

31ViewSonic PJ588D/PJ568D/PJ508D MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY Replacing the Projection Lamp The project on lamp should be replaced when t burns out. It should only be replaced w th a certified replacement part, wh ch you can order from your local dealer. Important: The lamp contains a certain amount of mercury and should be disposed of according to local ordinance regulations. Avoid touching the glass surface of the new lamp: Doing so may shorten its operation life. Warning: Be sure to turn off and unplug the projector at least an hour before replacing the lamp. Failure to do so could result in severe burn. It is recommended that you do not attempt to replace the lamp while the projector is installed on a ceiling. If you do attempt this, wear protective goggles to prevent glass from a ruptured lamp getting into your eyes. 1.Lift the screw covers [A]. Remove the screws on the lamp com- partment cover [B]. 2.Lift the lamp compartment cover [C] exposing the lamp module.
32ViewSonic PJ588D/PJ568D/PJ508D 3.Remove the two screws from the lamp module [A] and then lift the module handle up [B]. 4.Pull up firmly to remove the lamp module. 5.Reverse Steps 1 to 4 to install the new lamp module. Note: The lamp module should be oriented as shown here when replacing. Resetting the Lamp After replac ng the lamp, reset the lamp hour counter to zero. Refer to the follow ng: 1.Press the Menu button to open the Main menu. 2.Press the cursor button to move to the Status menu. 3.Press the cursor button to move to Lamp Hour Reset. 4.Press the Enter button. A message screen appears.
