14 Connection When connecting a signal source to the projector, be sure to: 1. Turn all devices off before making any connections. 2. Use the correct signal cables for each source. 3. Ensure the cables are firmly inserted. In the connections shown below, some cables may not be included within the projector packaging (please refer to “Shipping contents” ). 15 Connect to the computer or monitor Connect to the computer 1. Use the VGA cable provided. Plug one end to the D-Sub output jack at the com - puter end. 2. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the COMPUTER IN1 or IN2 signal input jack on the projector. 3. To use the remote mouse cursor control function, plug in the larger end o\ f the USB cable to the USB port on the computer and the smaller end to the MIN\ I USB jack on the projector. 16 Connecting to Video source devices You can connect the projector to any of the following video source device\ with an output jack:• HDMI • Component video • S- video • Video (composite video) Only 1 of the aforementioned connection methods is required to connect t\ he projector to the video source device. 17 Connecting to HDMI devices Use an HDMI cable to establish a connection between the projector and HD\ MI device. 1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output jack on the video d\ evice. 2. Connect the other end of the cable to the HDMI signal input jack on the \ projector. 19 Operation Activate the projector Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall socket. Turn on the switch on the wall socket (if available). Press Power to switch on the projector. If this is the first time that you've switched on the projector, please refer to on-screen instructions and select your OSD language. Switch on all connected equipment. 21 Disabling the password function For security purposes and to help prevent unauthorized use, the projecto\ r includes an option for setting up password security. Passwords may be set using the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Please refer to the [Menu Use] section for details\ on OSD menu operations. It is troublesome if you keep forgetting the password after setting up p\ assword protection.
