Rugged, Cost-Effective 2-Head Transport For Smooth, Faultless Tape Handling The 112 MKII is equipped with TASCAM’s rugged, conventional 2-head design. The reliability of this system is well-documented among recording pro- fessionals, who vouch for its superior stability and reliability. Automatic Tape Bias Selection For Error-Free, Optimal High Frequency Response Proper bias type is automatically selected when a tape is placed in the deck; you get optimal record- ing and playback response with Normal, Metal or Cr0 2 tapes. 112 MKII STEREO CASSETTE DECK page 1 of 3 Sound Price/Performance For Basic Mastering TASCAM designed the 112 MKII stereo cassette deck to offer musicians and production studios alike a cost-effective cassette production/ mastering deck. The 112 MKII is a basic, 2-head no-frills “workhorse” that offers outstanding per- formance, stability and reliability for any number of basic recording applications; tape mastering, dubbing from external decks, and radio program archiving. Still, it boasts a robust feature set that is geared toward producing high-quality tapes with optimal signal levels and high frequency detail. These intuitive controls allow editors to select two points on any tape for one button forward/reverse to wherever the action is. Once the two points are set, the REPEAT button allows you to loop between the two points with one-touch convenience. Additionally, Return-to-Zero (RTZ) quickly spools the tape back to 0000 on the 112 MKII’s four-digit index tape counter. Easy Integration Into Personal, Project & Production Studios The 112 MKII features rear-mounted RCA input and output jacks for easy connection to audiophile- quality sources. Optional Balanced Connector Kit If your input requirements include balanced or unbalanced XLR connectors, the optional LA-112 connector kit will provide the additional inputs. After a simple installation procedure that requires no special tools, both balanced and unbalanced line inputs and outputs will be available, selectable with the flip of a back-panel switch. Parallel Port For External Control For hands-off mastering in professional recording environments, you’ll find a 25-pin D sub connector on the 112 MKII back panel. This link connects the tape deck to the optional RC-134 remote control unit or for fader start from any mixer that also uses the 25-pin D sub protocol. Stereo VU Meters & Input/Output Dials Ensure Optimal Sound Levels The input dials on the 112 MKII are gear-interdepen- dent, allowing you to dial in stereo VU calibration with one dial. Or, for channel-specific calibration, hold one dial still while adjusting the other. Either way, you get consistent, cleaner, more dynamic mixes. Dolby HX Pro For Highest Quality Without Distortion For maximum high-range clarity and reproduction precision, the 112 MKII is equipped with the Dolby HX Pro headroom extension system. HX pro is an active biasing system that minimizes the effect of high fre- quency music signals on the deck’s bias signal, achieving up to 6 dB greater headroom at the higher music frequencies. What’s more, HX Pro is a record- only process, so tapes recorded with HX Pro can be played back on any other cassette deck. The 112 MKII also utilizes your choice of popular Dolby B or C noise reduction when recording, to further position your tape for best results from other playback decks. 3-Point Memory Features Speed Editing/Review When editing program material or engaging in critical listening, the 112 MKII offers two Autolocator buttons (LOC 1 and LOC 2) and a MEMO IN control. 112 MKII STEREO CASSETTE DECK page 2 of 3 INPUTS OUTPUTS REMOTE CONTROL L RL R Rear Panel-112 MKII
