LA-80 & LA-81
TA SCAMs LA -80 and LA -81 line lev el converter bo xes werebuilt for studio qualit y conversion between balanced andunbalanced line lev els, offering the best integr ation of alltypes of equipment.  Fine tuning trim pots are accessed onthe front panel, offering  ±6dB adjustment on individualoutputs.  Ground lift controls are a vailable on each channelor globally for eliminating ground loops.  On the bottom of the LA -80 is a channel link matrix that allows channels to be link ed, utilizing the Line Amp as a distribution amplifier .  This is great for splitting signals for distribution to multiple recorders, or for multizone sound routing applications.

Restaurants - Retail Stores - Live Theaters
In situations where a commonsignals, the LA series splitters are incredibly useful.  In theaters, th\
e audiofrom the main PA system could be split and sent to separ ate amps so patrons can still hear the show in the lobb y or restrooms.  In retail outletsand restaurants, the same source can be sent to separ ate systems feeding the entrance, restaur ant, bar, restrooms, and office individually .
The LA-80 is especiallyaudio source is starting out as unbalanced, but the amplifiers ma y not belocated directly near the audio equipment.  The LA-80 not only splits theunbalanced signal, but also converts it to balanced for better performanceo ver longer cable runs.

LA-80:
The line lev elamplifier, converting unbalanced signals to a balanced lev els.  Inputs shall be pro vided on 8 RCA connectors;outputs shall be provided on 8 XLR connectors.
Each channelof ±6dB on the front panel.  On the bottom panel, a switch shall be pro vided for each channel offering +4dBm/-20dBmnominal balanced output lev el adjustment.  On the backpanel, a ground lift switch shall be pro vided for each channel; an over all ground lift switch shall also be present.
The line lev el converter shall also ha ve amp function, allowing the individual linking of each channel (2-7) to the previous channel for flexible linking.
The line lev el converter19 r ack mount, taking one space in height.  Dimensions shall be 19 x 1-7/8 x 7-11/16 (W x H x D).

LA-80 ONLY:
On the a small matrix of switches for balanced output lev el and channel input link.  Theinput link groups the output of the giv enchannel with the previous channel.  Thisfunction allows the LA-80 to operate asa distribution amp , not just a levelconverter .
Each channelgrouping is completely flexible.  Y ou can take one input to eight channels forsimple distribution of a single mono source.  Y ou could mak e 4 splits of a stereo input.  Y ou could even make twocopies of one signal, three of another , and have the remaining three inputs simply used as a line lev el amp.  
This kindnumber of installed sound applications, especially where a simple unbalancedstereo output ma y need to be sent to several different amplifiers for multiplezones.
