1 The TASCAM CC-222mkIII is a 3U rack-mountable combination CD player/recorder, tray loaded mechanism, and cassette deck, two-head bi-directional player/recorder. The unit offers continuous play between cassette and CD, automatic dubbing between cassette and CD (in either direction), simultaneous recording from an outside source to both decks, or recording to one deck while playing to another. Simultaneous play on both mechanisms is also possible. The combination provides power on play and includes a wireless remote (RC-222). The cassette deck provides 12 +/- pitch control, Dolby B noise reduction, and its counter reset has an RTZ function. Rear panel I/O consists of unbalanced RCA connectors with front input control. The output doubles as a common output passing CD audio when the cassette is not in use. The CD player offers MP3 playback, Program Play, Shuffle Play and allows continuous play of one or all tracks. Output, located on rear panel, are line level RCA jacks. Digital S/PDIF I/O is available through coax and optical connectors. An RIAA phono input is provided. The CC-222mkIII can be operated as two individual recorders or record one source to both recorders simultaneously. The Time-Track -Increment feature automatically adds a CD track ID every few minutes (adjustable from 1 to 10 minute increments). The CC-222mkIII provides the ability to add a track marker when the signal drops below a certain level, or when the record button is pressed. PANELS In order to take the guesswork out of selecting media, we are posting an approved list of media for use with theCC-222mkIII. At the time of this writing, media from each of these manufacturers was written to and verified. CD-R / CD-R-DA approved manufacturers: Sony, TDK, Taiyo Yuden, AMT, CMC, Ritek, Prodisc, Mitsubishi Chemical CD-RW / CD-RW-DA approved manufacturers: Sony, Ritek, Prodisc, AMT, CMC, Ricoh, Mitsubishi Chemical. High-speed media is approved for use, meaning that the unit is not limited to 1x speed media. Music discs with copy control, a copy-protection system, have been released from several record companies in an attempt to protect the copyright. Since some of these discs do not comply with the CD specifications, they may not be playable on the CC-222mkIII. The combination deck shall have a timer play function that engages the CD to play when powered up. Continuous play between the cassette and CD mechanisms shall also be offered.
