Creating a layout
Layouts are created automatically when you perform the following
steps:
1.Open a new combination of tracks for editing.
Each track may have been edited before, individually or together with other tracks, it
doesn’t matter. What matters is that you open precisely these tracks. For example, to
create a layout for a string quartet, select parts on the corresponding tracks and press
[Ctrl]/[Command]-[R].
The order of the tracks does not matter – you...

The Layout List
Selecting “Show List” from the Scores–Layout Settings submenu
brings up the Layout List window. This lists all existing layouts in the
project, with the current one selected. Here you can perform a num-
ber of operations:

To select another combination of tracks for editing, select the corre-
sponding layout in the list and click Show.

Managing layouts
•To rename a layout, double click its name in the list and type a new
one.
Initially, a layout gets the name of one of the edited tracks – it may be a good idea to
give each layout a more informative name. You can also rename the current layout in
the Layout Settings dialog (Scores–Layout Settings–Setup).
•To remove a layout you no longer need, select it and click Remove.
•To remove all layouts for which there no longer are track combinations,...

Marker Track to Form

rus, etc.), you can automatically transfer these markers to the current
layout:
1.Pull down the Scores menu and open the Layout Functions submenu.
2.Select “Marker Track to Form”.
Now, rehearsal markers and double barlines are inserted in the score, at the position of
each marker.
3.If you want the names...

The track list
The display to the left lists the tracks included in the layout and allows
you to make the following settings for each track:
Multi-Rests
Whenever more than one-bar rests occur, the program can replace
these with a multi-rest symbol. The parameter allows you to set how
many empty bars should be “allowed” before Nuendo should collect
them into a multi rest. “Off” means “never”. See page 253 for more info

1.Select all the items you want to hide.
2.Select Hide from the Staff Functions submenu or click on the “H” (Hide)
button on the extended toolbar....
