Optional Enhanced RAM+ Mic The QUEST+ has the capability of being connected to the enhanced full function RAM+ Mic. This advanced second station operates as a full remote to the QUEST+ at the fly bridge, cockpit tower or location of your choice. The submersible RAM+ allows you to control all radio functions including Digital Selective Calling and can show channel names and repeat GPS information. The 25 Foot routing cable of the RAM+ has speaker wires so there is no need to run additional wires for an external speaker. DSC Performance The most important reason to have a VHF radio on board your vessel is safety. The QUEST+ meets the internationally recognized requirements for RCTM SC-101 Digital Selective calling. In an emergency the QUEST+ is capable of transmitting an automated Digital MAYDAY transmission that includes GPS position and Date and Time when connected to a GPS. The QUEST+ can also transmit and receive DSC Urgency, Safety, Group and Individual calls. Position Polling STANDARD HORIZON has pioneered the capability to poll (request and send) the GPS location of another vessel and show the position of that vessel on the VHF’s display. STANDARD HORIZON has taken this feature one step further, if any STANDARD HORIZON GPS Chart Plotter is connected to the QUEST+ the polled position of the vessel is shown on the display of the STANDARD HORIZON GPS Chart Plotter making it easy to navigate to the location of the received position of the polled vessel. In a distress situation, when the QUEST+ receives a DSC Distress call from another vessel, the position of the vessel in distress is shown on the Standard Horizon GPS Chart plotter making it easy for you to assist in the rescue. Channel Names, NOAA Weather Alert and ScanningDon’t know what a specific channel should be used for, the QUEST+ identifies the intended function on the channel on the oversized LCD. The QUEST+ is NOAA Weather Alert capable that warns you of impeding severe weather by audibly alerting you to switch to the active weather channel. The Quest+ can be programmed to scan any number or combination of channels with or without CH16 as the priority. Want to scan between a working channel and CH16, you can using the Dual Watch function. ClearVoice Noise Reduction Technology The QUEST+ features an exceptional waterproof microphone that includes STANDARD HORIZON’s exclusive ClearVoice Noise Reduction technology. ClearVoice technology eliminates unwanted background noises like engine and wind. The results are clear transmissions that are heard and understood the first time. Handy buttons on the microphone provide convenient access to CH16 or 9 and has channel selection capabilities. Built Better so Backed Better The QUEST+ was designed from the ground up to take the punishment of the marine environment. If the STANDARD HORIZON QUEST+ fails for any reason (including water damage) during normal use in the first 3 years of ownership, STANDARD HORIZON will at its discretion repair or replace it for free. If it fails for anytime thereafter in normal use, for as long as the original customer owns the radio, STANDARD HORIZON’s Lifetime Flat Rate Service, Customer Loyalty Policy Programs will cover it. The flat rate is determined at the time of the original purchase. CVS2500 Voice Scrambler
