MODEL VPL- CX80 Bright XGA Installation Projector 3000 ANSI lumen This smart, stylish projector offers a range of features that make it suitable for standard installation, integration in AV systems, or for portable use. The VPL-CX80 offers a high brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens to display bright pictures in large rooms, even where there is a high level of ambient light. Native XGA resolution ensures clear display of detail while an extremely quiet fan, at just 28dB, ensures the projector will not distract the attention of the audience. The model is equipped with two RGB (15 pin D-sub) inputs, one monitor output (15 pin D-sub), as well as two audio inputs and one audio output. For control it has an RS-232C port. A USB connection allows users to navigate through a presentation running on a PC using the supplied remote control. Key Features Additional Features Intelligent Auto Set-up Press the ‘on’ button and the projector will complete the following steps automatically, ensuring ease of operation: 1 Lens protector opens automatically (which also avoids loss of the lens cap) 2 Projector tilts to previously used angle 3 Auto keystone correction is completed 4 Auto input search occurs 5 Smart Auto Pixel Alignment (APA) is completed. Monitor Out The projector can display the image simultaneously on a large screen and on an additional monitor (via a 15 pin D-sub connection), so that the user can face the audience and still see the information being shown. RS-232C Connections include an RS-232C port for management and control of the projector. Low Fan Noise Quiet operation ensures that your audience will not be distracted by fan noise. The VPL-CX80 operates at just 28dB. Control Panel Lock This function locks the controls on the top and side of the projector, to prevent unauthorised or unintentional use of the controls. Functionality can be switched ‘on’ or ‘off’. Password Protection When this function is activated a password is required to use the projector (if the password is lost, Sony is able to retrieve it). Side Shot™ No need to place the projector directly in front of the screen – Side Shot™ will adjust the signal and display a correct image even when the projector is placed to the side of the screen. Two RGB Inputs Two 15-pin D-sub inputs allow for flexible connection. Input-A is for RGB or Component, Input-B is for RGB only. Direct Power On/Off The projector can be set to skip the standby mode, so that it can be turned on or off directly using a mains switch. Off & Go Function The fan continues to cool the projector after the power supply is removed, enabling users to unplug the projector immediately after use, without damaging the lamp. (Other projectors need to be cooled and remain connected to the power supply after use.) 41235 Projector DataSheet CX80 8/2/05 12:01 pm Page 1
