Personal Audio System SRS-X5 Disconnecting the smartphone by one touch (NFC) You can disconnect the speaker from the connected smartphone by touching the speaker with it. 1. Touch the speaker with the smartphone. Touch the smartphone on the N -Mark of the speaker. Hint After the speaker is disconnected from the smartphone by one touch, if no operation is performed and no sound is input for about 15 minutes, the speaker turns off automatically by the auto power off function. Personal Audio System SRS-X5 Switching devices by one touch (NFC) When the speaker is connected with a BLUETOOTH device, if you touch a smartphone on the N -Mark of the speaker, the speaker disconnects from the BLUETOOTH device, then connects with the smartphone. However, if you are talking on a BLUETOOTH mobile phone connected to the speaker, you cannot switch the BLUETOOTH connection by one touch. When the speaker is connected with a smartphone, if you touch the smartphone on another NFC-compatible BLUETOOTH headset or BLUETOOTH speaker, the smartphone disconnects from the speaker, and connects with the BLUETOOTH device it touched. Personal Audio System SRS-X5 Listening to music of a device via BLUETOOTH connection You can enjoy listening to music of a BLUETOOTH device and operate it via a BLUETOOTH connection if it supports the following BLUETOOTH profiles. A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Enables you to enjoy high-quality audio contents wirelessly. AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) Enables you to adjust the volume of a BLUETOOTH device. Operations may vary depending on the BLUETOOTH device. Refer also to the operating instructions supplied with your BLUETOOTH device. 1. Connect the speaker with the BLUETOOTH device. The (BLUETOOTH) indicator lights up in white when the BLUETOOTH connection is established. 2. Start playback on the BLUETOOTH device, and adjust the volume. Adjust the volume of the BLUETOOTH device to a moderate level. 3 . Tap the VOL (volume) –/+ buttons to adjust the volume. Hint Depending on the BLUETOOTH device, it may be necessary to adjust the volume or set the audio output setting on the connected device. Note If the communication condition is poor, the BLUETOOTH device may react incorrectly to operations on the speaker. Personal Audio System SRS-X5 Selecting BLUETOOTH audio streaming playback quality Priority on stable connection and Priority on sound quality modes are available as options for selecting the playback quality of BLUETOOTH audio streaming. Priority on stable connection is the default setting. Supported Codecs Priority on stable connection: SBC (Default setting) Priority on sound quality: AAC or aptX , SBC 1 . Set the speaker to BLUETOOTH standby mode. The (power) indicator lights up in orange. 2 . While holding the VOL (volume) + button, press the (power) button until the (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes white. When the setting is changed to Priority on sound quality mode, the (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes 3 times in white. When the setting is changed to Priority on stable connection mode, the (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes 2 times in white. Note Communication may become unstable in the Priority on sound quality mode, depending on the setting of your BLUETOOTH device and the ambient conditions. Personal Audio System SRS-X5 Terminating the BLUETOOTH connection (After use) When you finish playing music with the BLUETOOTH device, perform any of the following operations to terminate the BLUETOOTH connection. Turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the BLUETOOTH device. For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the device. Turn off the BLUETOOTH device. Turn off the speaker. Touch the smartphone on the speaker again (if your smartphone has the NFC function). Switch the function of the speaker to AUDIO IN mode by tapping the AUDIO IN button. Hint If no operation is performed and no music (sound) is input by a BLUETOOTH device for about 15 minutes, the speaker turns off automatically by the auto power off function, then the BLUETOOTH connection terminates. When you finish playing music, the BLUETOOTH connection may terminate automatically, depending on the BLUETOOTH device. Connect the speaker to the device using an audio cable. 2 . Turn on the speaker. The (power) indicator lights up in green. 3 . Tap the AUDIO IN button. The AUDIO IN indicator lights up in white and the AUDIO IN function turns on. 4. Turn on the connected device. 5 . Start playback on the connected device, and adjust the volume.
