    Using the TV Features

    enhanced treble and bass, Standard for spoken dialog and 
    Custom to customize the sound settings including the 
    Sound Booster setting.

    FAVO R I T E SPress once to display the stored favorite channel list.
    You can store up to 30 channels in your Favorites list.
    How to Add to Favorites
    While tuned to the channel you want to add to the list, press 
    OPTIONS and highlight “Add to Favorites”, then press  .
    A confirmation message of “Channel added to Favorites” will 
    appear for a few seconds.
    How to Remove from Favorites
    While tuned to a channel that exists in the Favorites list, 
    press OPTIONS and highlight “Remove from Favorites”, 
    then press  .
    A confirmation message of “Channel removed from 
    Favorites” will appear for a few seconds.

    Yo u r  Favorites list will be cleared each time you run Auto 
    Program (see pages 19 and 40 for Auto Program).
    qaRETURNPress to go back to the previous screen or exit from the screen 
    when displaying menu items and settings.

    ButtonsWhen FUNCTION is switched on BD (Blu-ray Disc), DVD 
    or STB, these buttons operate the video equipment you have 
    programmed into the remote control. For details, see “Using 
    Other Equipment with Your Remote Control” on page 28.

    m PREV: Press to replay the current program from the 
    previous chapter mark (if any) or from the beginning of the live 
    TV cache.
     REPLAY: Press to replay the current program for a set 
    period of time.
     ADVANCE: Press to advance forward a set period of 
    time when playing back a recorded program.
    M& NEXT: Press to advance forward to the next chapter mark 
    (if any) or to live TV when playing back a recorded program.
    m (fast reverse): Press to play a program in fast rewind 
    mode.
    H PLAY: Press to play a program at a normal speed.
    M (fast forward): Press to play a program in fast forward 
    mode.
    X PAU S E: Press to pause playback.
    x STOP: Press to stop the playback of a recorded program.
    qdTHEATERPress to turn on and off the Theater Mode. The picture 
    settings will be set for a cinema like experience and the audio 
    will be switched to the audio output of the attached speakers 
    of your BRAVIA Theatre Sync audio system.
    Your BRAVIA Theatre Sync audio system must be connected 
    by an HDMI connection to your TV (see page 17 for details).
    qfMUTINGPress to mute the sound. Press again or press VOL  + to restore 
    the sound.

    appears.

    Using the TV Features
    wsJUMPPress to jump back and forth between two channels. The TV 
    alternates between the current channel and the last channel 
    that was selected.
    wdWIDEPress repeatedly to step through the Wide Mode settings: 
    Wide Zoom, Normal, Full, Zoom. The Wide Mode 
    settings can be also accessed in the Screen settings (see page 
    37).

    of External Inputs is displayed.

    select/confirm an item.

    shortcuts. The option menu items vary based on input and 
    content.

     Detailed information of digital rating will appear if Digital 
    Rating is selected when an icon to inform you the digital 
    rating information appears.

    Press to display the TV Home Menu/XMB™ to access the TV 
    Home Menu
     items such as the TV Settings, TV channels and External Inputs list (see pages 9 and 32).
    wlCH +/–Press to scan through channels. To scan quickly through 
    channels, press and hold down either +/–.
    e;F1/F2Press to select the function of connected components. For 
    details, see “Using Other Equipment with Your Remote

    Using the TV Features
    Indicators

    1SpeakerOutputs the audio signal.

    TIMER LEDLights up in green when the Picture Off feature is activated. Lights up in orange when 
    the timer is set. When the timer is set, this LED will remain lit even if the TV is turned 
    off. For details, see page 34.
    3STANDBY LEDLights up in red when your TV is in PC standby mode. If the LED blinks in red 
    continuously, this may indicate the TV needs servicing (see contacting Sony information 
    on the back cover).
    4POWER LEDLights up in green when the TV is turned on.
    5(IR) Infrared 
    Receiver/Light 
    SensorReceives IR signals from the remote control.
    Senses room light level and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly (see page 45 for 
    details). Do not put anything near the sensor, as its function may be affected.
     
    						
    							26 Programming the Remote 
    Control
    The remote control is preset as below so that you 
    do not need to program the remote control.
    Follow the steps below to program your TV’s 
    remote control.
    1In the space provided below, write down the 
    three-digit code of your equipment found on 
    the Manufacturer’s Codes List on page 27.
    If more than one code is listed, try entering 
    the code listed first.
    Code No.                      
    2Press and hold  ,   or   and   
    simultaneously to light the FUNCTION 
    button.
    3Enter the three-digit code using  -  while 
    the selected button is lit. If the code is not 
    entered within 10 seconds, you must repeat 
    step 2.
    4Press   while the FUNCTION button is lit.
    If programmed correctly, the selected 
    FUNCTION button blinks twice. If not it 
    blinks five times.
    To Confirm the Programming
    If you can turn on and off the equipment by 
    pressing the green   button, then the 
    programming is complete. If not, try the next code 
    listed.
    ~
     In some cases, you may not be able to program your 
    remote control. If this is the case, use your equipment’s 
    own remote control.
     Any one of the 
    FUNCTION buttons can be 
    programmed to operate other equipment regardless of 
    the labeling. For example, if programmed with the 
    correct code,   can operate DVD/VCR combo 
    equipment. This is useful if your equipment does not 
    match the labeled buttons available. Make note of your 
    equipment’s programmed button.

    Make sure that the equipment is programmed on 
    the remote control (page 26).
    Press INPUT repeatedly until you see the video 
    input on the screen for your connected equipment. 
    Remote control tips are provided below.
