It enables you to perform a variety of tasks intuitively with a control panel on the screen rather than a variety of remote control button presses. When you press the button, you can select from basic TV functions: External Inputs, Favorites, Cable, Antenna or adjust TV settings. You can assign a label to your equipment or skip unused inputs conveniently. For details, see page 54. Favo r it e s The Favo r i t e s feature lets you select programs from a list of up to 16 favorite channels that you specify. For details, see page 54. Cable The Cable feature displays the most recently viewed channel on the cable input. Antenna The Antenna feature displays the most recently viewed channel on the antenna input. Settings The Settings feature lets you adjust the Picture, Sound, Screen, Channel, Parental Lock or Setup settings. Using External Inputs in MENU The External Inputs feature lets you view from a selected external input connected to your TV. You can assign a label or skip over unused inputs by selecting Edit Video Labels. Input label assignment can also be done by going to Setup settings and select Label Video Inputs (see page 71). 1Highlight External Inputs from the MENU control panel and press . The External Inputs list appears. 2Make your selection by pressing M/m to highlight the desired external input then press . Using Favorites in MENU The Favor i tes feature lets you select programs from a list of up to 16 favorite channels that you specify. You can create a list using the Add to Favo r i t e s option. 1Highlight Favor i tes from the MENU control panel and press . The Favorite Channels list appears. 2Make your selection by pressing M/m to highlight the desired channel then press . To add the current channel to the list of Favorite Channels, highlight Add to Favorites and press . When the Favorite Channels list is full, select Edit Favorites to remove a channel from the list or go to the Channel settings and select Favorite Channels to edit the channel. Recommended for home entertainment. CustomSelect to display a picture with minimum enhancements. ✍You can alter the Picture settings (Picture, Brightness, Color, etc.) for each Picture Mode and each video input. ✍You may set up a Picture Mode (Vivid, Standard, Custom) independently for each Video input (Video 1 to Video 7, including the Antenna input). Your Picture Mode settings are automatically saved after each selection. This allows you to customize the Picture Mode setting for each type of signal source. ResetSelect OK to reset all settings and adjustments to the default setting (except for Advanced Settings). Advanced IrisBy selecting the iris option, you can obtain the best brightness and contrast suited for your TV viewing. Auto 1/2Automatically detects the brightness of the screen. These options are best suited for programs such as movies that often change between bright scenes and low light setting scenes. Auto 1: Recommended option for viewing programs that have larger variation in brightness from scene to scene. zTo quickly and easily change from one Picture Mode to another, use PICTURE on the remote control. HighWith this option, the screen has maximum level of brightness. It is suitable for TV viewing in a brightly lit room. MediumWith this option, the brightness is about the standard level. LowWith this option, the screen is dimmed but contrast is at a maximum. It is suitable for TV viewing in a room with low lighting. ✍When Picture Mode is set to Vivid, Advanced Iris option is automatically set to Auto 1. PictureAdjust to increase picture contrast and deepen the color or decrease picture contrast and soften the color. BrightnessAdjust to brighten or darken the picture. ColorAdjust to increase or decrease color intensity. HueAdjust to increase or decrease the green tones. Color Temp. White intensity adjustmentChoose from four color temperatures: CoolSelect to give the white colors a blue tint. NeutralSelect to give the white colors a neutral tint. DRC Mode High DensityCreates a high-resolution picture with 4 x density, for high quality sources (i.e., DVD player, satellite receiver). ProgressiveRecommended for still pictures. ✍DRC Mode is most effective when watching 480i source.
