Additional information 61 RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) EXPOSURE AND SARYour mobile phone is a low-power radio transmitter and receiver. When it is turned on, it emits low leve ls of radio frequency energy (also known as radio waves or r adio frequency fields). Governments around the world have adopted comprehensive international safety guidelines, developed by scientific organizations, e.g. I CNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiat ion Protection), through periodic and thorough evaluat ion of scientific studies. These guidelines establish permitte d levels of radio wave exposure for the general pop ulation. All Sony Ericsson mobile phone models are de signed to operate within these stringent levels. The levels in clude a safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health, and to account for any variations in measurements. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the unit of measur e- ment for the amount of radio frequency energy abso rbed by the body when using a mobile phone. Th e SAR value is determined at the highest certified power level in labo- ratory conditions, but the actual SAR level of the mobile phone while operating can be well below this va lue. This is because the mobile phone is designed to use the minimum power required to reach the netw ork. Therefore, the closer you are to a base statio n, the more likely it is that the actual SAR level will decrease. Variations in SAR below the radio frequency exposure guidelines do not mean that there are variations in safety. While there may be differences in SAR levels amo ng various mobile phones, all Sony Ericsson mobile phone models are designed to meet radio frequency exposure guidelines. Accessories can significantly affect a mobile p hones compliance with the radio frequency exposure guide lines. For example, the Federal Communication Commis sion in the U.S. requires that some manufacturers accessor ies shall be tested, and Sony Ericsson has done so w ith respect to its products. To avoid causing loss of performance or radio frequency exposure levels above the permissible limits it is recommended that you o nly use Sony Ericsson or Ericsson original acc essories supplied with or designated for use with this m obile phone. If you wear the mobile phone on your body w hile it is transmitting, and you do not use a Sony Ericss on or Ericsson original body worn accessory, please en sure that the mobile phone is positioned a minimum of 1.5 cm from your body and that you are not using an accessory that contain any metal. A separate leaflet with SAR information for th is mobile phone model is included with the material that comes with this mobile phone. This information can also b e found, together with more information on radio fre quency exposure and SAR, on www.SonyEricsson.com/.

Emergency calls may not be possible on all cellular networks or when certain network services and/or mobile phone features are in use. Check with your local service provider.Emergency Response Center Location TechnologyUsing wireless technology to help find you in case of an emergency is a goal shared by the entire wireless industry, local phone companies and the emerge ncy response centers. Your phone may support an e mergency positioning sy stem being implemented by some s ervice providers. But the complexity of mobile comm unication technology, combined with related implementation technologies, means that your wireless carrier , the local phone companies, and emergency response centers a ll have a role to play in implementing this capability . So even if your phone supports this technology and even if the locating features works in one area there is no guarantee that it will work in all areas fo r all calls to emergency response centers. Always review w ith an emergency response center all location da ta you have, including intersecting streets, as well as any landmarks, to assist in locating you. Sony Ericsson is committed to continuing to work w ith the entire communications industry to improve loc ation features for emergency response. Sony Ericsson is not liable for any service(s) in cluding operation, coverage, or range of the network services provided by network carriers independent of Sony Ericsson. If the mobile phone is used near a base station, less power is required and talk and standby times a re prolonged. Warning! May explode if disposed of in fire. Use only Ericsson or Sony Ericsson bra nded original batteries and chargers intended for use with you r mobile phone. Other chargers may not charge sufficiently or may produce excessive heat. Using other batterie s and chargers could be dangerous.
