Other Operations
Naming Preset Stations
You can enter a name of up to 8 characters
for preset stations. These names (for
example, ÒXYZÓ) appear in the systemÕs
front panel display when a station is
selected.
Note that no more than one name can be
entered for each preset station.
1Press FUNCTION repeatedly until
TUNER appears on the front panel
display.
The last station you received is tuned
in.
Each time you press FUNCTION, the
mode of the system changes in the

cursor buttons:
Press x/X to select a character, then
press c to move the cursor to the next
position.
If you make a mistake
Press C or c repeatedly until the
character to be changed flashes, then

Using the Setup Display
  
By using the Setup Display, you can make
various adjustments to items such as picture
and sound. You can also set a language for
the subtitles and the Setup Display, among
other things. For details on each Setup
Display item, see page 64-70. For an overall

Setting the Display or
Sound Track Language
(LANGUAGE SETUP)
  
ÒLANGUAGE SETUPÓ allows you to set
various languages for the on-screen display
or sound track.
Select ÒLANGUAGE SETUPÓ in the Setup
Display. For details on using the display, see
ÒUsing the Setup DisplayÓ (page 63).
xOSD (On-Screen Display)
Switches the display language on the screen.
Selects the language from the displayed list.

zIf you select ÒOTHERS tÓ in ÒDVD MENU,Ó
ÒSUBTITLE,Ó or ÒAUDIO,Ó select and enter the
language code from the list using the number buttons
(page 80).
After you have made a selection, the language code
(4 digits) is displayed the next time you select
ÒOTHERS t.Ó
Note
If you select a language that is not recorded on the
DVD, one of the recorded languages will be
automatically selected (except for the ÒOSDÓ).

Note
Depending on the DVD, Ò4:3 LETTER BOXÓ may
be selected automatically instead of Ò4:3 PAN
SCANÓ or vice versa.
xSCREEN SAVER
Turns the screen saver on and off so that the
screen saver image appears when you leave
the system in pause or stop mode for
15 minutes, or when you play back a CD for
more than 15 minutes. The screen saver will
help prevent your display device from
becoming damaged (ghosting). Press H to
turn off the screen saver.

SETUP in the Setup Display.

You will hear the test tone from each
speaker in sequence.
3From your listening position, select
ÒBALANCEÓ or ÒLEVELÓ and adjust the
