This chapter describes how to set the
remote for controlling the TV, listen to
the radio, etc.
Controlling the TV with the
Supplied Remote Z
If you adjust the remote signal, you can control your TV
with the supplied remote.  Default setting is to control
Sony TVs with the g mark.

Listening to the Radio
Preset radio stations in the systemÕs memory first (see
ÒPresetting Radio StationsÓ on page 17).
1Press FUNCTION repeatedly until TUNER appears on
the front panel display.
The last received station is tuned in.
2Press PRESET + or PRESET Ð repeatedly to select the
preset station you want.
Each time you press the button, the system tunes in
one preset station at a time.
3Adjust the volume by rotating VOLUME.

Naming Preset Stations Z
You can enter a name of up to 7 characters for preset
stations.  These names (for example, ÒXYZÓ) appear in the
systemÕs front panel display when a station is selected.
Note that no more than one name can be entered for each
preset station.
1Press FUNCTION repeatedly until TUNER appears on
the front panel display.
The last station you received is tuned in.
Each time you press FUNCTION, the mode of the
system changes in the following sequence.

Using the Sleep Timer  Z
You can set the system to turn off automatically at a
specified time.
Press SLEEP on the remote while the power is on.
Each time you press SLEEP, the time changes as shown
below.
The display dims after you have specified the time.
zYou can check the time remaining before the system turns
off
Press SLEEP on the remote.  The remaining time appears on the
front panel display.
zYou can extend the sleep timer up to 9 hours

The power is not turned on.
,Check that the AC power cord is connected
securely.

There is no picture.
,Check that the system is connected securely.
,The video connecting cord is damaged.  Replace it
