For details, see page 42. 1Slide the lever to open the cover. 2Insert the memory card (sold separately). With the notched corner facing as illustrated, insert the memory card until it clicks into place. Ensure the notched corner faces correctly. 3Close the cover.

GB46 Shooting and viewing images Shooting still images In auto mode, the camera analyzes the subject and allows you to shoot with the appropriate settings. 1Set the mode dial to (Auto Mode). 2Hold the camera steady as illustrated. 3Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. When the image is in focus, the indicator (z ) lights. • The shortest shooting distance is approximately 0.3 m (1 ft.) (from the image sensor (page 17)). When you turn the macro switching ring to “0,2m-0,35m,” the camera is set to macro mode. The shortest shooting distance is approximately 0.2 m (0.65 ft.). Shooting still images Shooting and viewing images GB47 4Press the shutter button fully down to shoot an image. When the camera detects and shoots a face with [Auto Port. Framing] set to [Auto], the captured image is automatically trimmed into a suitable composition. Both the original and the trimmed images are saved.
GB48 Recording movies Notes The sound of the camera in operation may be recorded while recording a movie. You can disable the sound recording by setting [Audio Recording] to [Off] (page 28). The continuous recording time of a movie depends on the ambient temperature or the condition of the camera. See “Notes on continuous movie recording” (page 68). When the icon appears, the temperature of the camera is too high. Turn the camera off and wait until the temperature of the camera decreases.
