•While holding pistol in your shooting hand, replace the slide onto the frame (Figure 20). •Replace the recoil spring over the recoil guide (Figure 21). •Place the open end of the spring into the recoil housing, pressing the recoil guide rod into the slide opening. •Following reassembly, and prior to attempting to load your pistol, always make certain that the pistol is in proper working order and that there are no unusual conditions to prevent its safe operation.
