CONFIGURING THE CLIENT PC 3-17 Disable HTTP Proxy You need to verify that the “HTTP Proxy” feature of your web browser is disabled. This is so that your browser can view the Barricade’s HTML configuration pages. The following steps are for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer 1. Open Internet Explorer and click the Stop button. Click Explorer/Preferences. 2. In the Internet Explorer Preferences window, under Network, select Proxies. 3. Uncheck all check boxes and click OK.

SETUP WIZARD 4-3 Setup Wizard Time Zone Click on SETUP WIZARD and NEXT, then you will see the Time Zone screen. Select your local time zone from the drop-down menu. This information is used for log entries and client filtering. If you want to automatically synchronize the Barricade with a public time server, check the box to Enable Automatic Time Server Maintenance. Select the desired servers from the drop-down menus. CONFIGURING THE BAR RICADE 4-6 Connection Type Setting Specify the WAN connection type required by your Internet Service Provider. Specify Dynamic IP Address, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP or Static IP Address. Select your connection type to proceed. Click BACK to go back and change your settings.

If your ISP has provided you with a Service Name enter it in the Service Name field, otherwise, leave it blank.
