solderwettability,youmaybeapttokeepthesolderingbitincontactwiththePWBforextendedperiodoftime.However,Sincethelandmaybe 
peeledofforthemaximumheat-resistancetemperatureofpartsmaybeexceeded,removethebitfromthePWBassoonasyouconfirmthe 
steadysolderingcondition. 
Lead-freesoldercontainsmoretin,andtheendofthesolderingbitmaybeeasilycorroded.Makesuretoturnonandoffthepowerofthebitas 
required. 
Ifadifferenttypeofsolderstaysonthetipofthesolderingbit,itisalloyedwithlead-freesolder.Cleanthebitaftereveryuseofit. 
Whenthetipofthesolderingbitisblackenedduringuse,fileitwithsteelwoolorfinesandpaper.
