OSDDescriptionPlay / Stop MagicBright™MagicBright™ is a new feature provid ing the optimum viewing environment depending on the contents of t he image you are watching. Currently four different modes are av ailable: Text, Internet, Entertain and Custom. Each mode has its own pre-configur ed brightness value. You can easily select one of four settings by simp ly pressing the MagicBright™ control button. - The direct button on the remo te control is M/B button. 1) Entertain : High Brightness For watching motion pictures such as a DVD or VCD. 2) Internet : Medium Brightness For working with a mixture of images such as the text with graphics added. 3) Text : Normal Brightness For documentations or works involving heavy text. 4) Custom Although the values are carefu lly chosen by our engineers, the pre-configured values may not be comfortable to your eyes depending on your taste. If this is the case, adjust t he Brightness and Contrast by using the OSD menu. CustomYou can use the on-screen menus to change the contrast and brightness according to personal preference. 1) Contrast : Adjusts the Contrast. 2) Brightness : Adjusts the Brightness. If you adjust the picture by using Custom functi on, MagicBright will turn to the Custom mode. Colour ToneThe tone of the colour can be changed. The individual colour DTVs ar e also user adjustable. 1) PC : Cool / Normal / Warm / Custom 2) DVI : Cool / Normal / Warm Colour ControlAdjusts the individual R, G, B Colour Controls. - Available in PC Mode Only 1) Red 2) Green 3) Blue If you adjust picture by using Colour Control func tion, Colour Tone will turn to the Custom mode. Image LockImage Lock is used to fine-tune and get the best image by removing noise that creates unstable images with jitter and shimmer. If satisfactory results are not obtained using the Fine adjustm ent, use the Coarse adjustment and then use Fine again. - Available in PC Mode Only 1) Coarse : Removes noise such as vertical stripes. Coarse adjustment may move the screen image area. You may relocate it to the center usi ng the Horizontal Control menu. 2) Fine : Removes noise such as horizontal stripes. If the noise persists even after Fine tuning, repeat it after adjusting the frequency (clock speed). 3) Sharpness - When the SOURCE is set to DVI, only this function operates. : Adjusts the picture sharpness. 4) Position : Adjusts the screen location horizontally and vertically. 1) Coarse 2) Fine 3) Sharpness 4) Position
Auto AdjustmentThe values of Fine, Coarse, Position are adjusted automatically. By changing the resolution in the contro l panel, auto function is performed. - The direct button on the remote control is the AUTO button. - Available in PC Mode Only SizeYou can switch the Size. You can activate either Dynamic, St andard, Movie, or Custom. You can select Custom which automatically recalls your personalized picture settings.

CustomThe sound settings can be adjusted to suit your personal preference. 1) Bass : Emphasize low frequency audio. 2) Treble : Emphasize high frequency audio. 3) Balance : Allows you to adjust the sound balance between the left and right speakers. (BG DK I L) 4) Channel : Choosing the air channel through the adjustment of up/down under the current frequency. 5) Search : The tuner scans the frequency r ange until the first channel or the channel that you select ed is received on your screen. 6) Store : Its used to restore t he number user inputs. Channel Manager 1) Channel List : You can add or delete a channel so only channels you want are displayed. 2) Child Lock : Protects children from vie wing inappropriate programs by blocking certain broadc ast or video programs.
SortIts used to exchange the numbers of two channels. NameIf channel name information is broadcas t when you store the channels either manually or automatically, the names are assigned to the channels directly. You can however change these names or assign new names as required. Fine TuneDue to weak signals or an incorrect antenna configuration, some of the channels may not be tuned correctly. If you wish to continue viewing the poor picture, you must set the Blue screen mode to Off.

Self-Test Feature Check Check the following items yourself bef ore calling for service. Contact the service center for problems that you cannot solve by yourself. Self-Test Feature Check | Not Optimum Mode | Display Adapter Driver Maintenance and Cleaning | Symptoms & Recommended Actions 1. Self-Test Feature Check Your monitor provides a self test feature that allo ws you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. 1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor. 2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. 3. Turn on the monitor. The figure shown below (Check Signal Cable) appears on a black bac kground when the monitor is in its normal working condition though it does not sense any video signal: While in the Self-Test mode, the LED power indicator remains gr een and the figure moves around on the screen. 4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video c able; then turn on both your computer and the monitor. If your monitor screen remains blank after using the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly . 2. Not Optimum Mode If the vertical resolution is not opt imum mode, you can still see the disp lay but the warning message below appears and disappears after one minute. The user must adjust the frequenc y within that one minute. Refer to Specifications > Preset Timing Modes for the resolutions or frequencies that are
supported by the monitor. 3. Display Adapter Driver Display adapter refers to the computer video card driver. If the adapter is not properly set, you cannot adj ust resolution, frequency or color and you cannot install the monitor driver. 1. Checking Adapter Driver Click Start Settings Control Panel Display Settings Advanced Adapter. If Default or a wrong product model is indicated, it means that the adapter driver is not properly installed. Install the adapter driv er again according to the informat ion provided by the computer or video card manufacturers. 2. Installing Adapter Driver The instructions given below ar e for general circumstances. For specific issues, contact the relevant computer or video card manufacturers. 1) Click Start Settings Control Panel Display Settings Advanced Adapter Update Driver Next Display a lis t of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver Next Ha ve Disk (Insert Video Card Driver diskette) OK Next Next Finish. 2) In case you have Adapter Driver Setup file on your computer: Run Setup.exe or Install.exe, which is found in the Adapter Driver Setup file. 4. Maintenance and Cleaning 1. Maintaining the Monitor Case. Clean with a soft cloth afte r disconnecting the power cord. 2. Maintaining the Flat Panel Display Screen. Clean with a soft cloth (cotton flannel) smoothly. !Do not use benzene, thinner or ot her flammable substances, or a wet cloth. !We recommend a Samsung cleansi ng agent is used to prevent damage to the screen. !Never use acetone, benzene or thinner. (They may cause flaws or defo rmation of the screen surface.) !The user will be required to pay costs and related expenses for repair of damages c aused by him/her. 5. Symptoms and Recommended Actions A monitor recreates visual signals received from t he computer. Therefore, if there is trouble with the computer or the video card, this can cause the monitor to become blank, have poor coloring, noise, Video mode not supported, etc. In this ca se, first check the SOURCE of the problem, and then contact a service center or your dealer . 1. Check if the power cord and the video cabl es are properly connected to the computer. 2. Check if the computer beeps more than 3 times when booting. (If it does, request an after-service fo r the main board of the computer.) 3. If you installed a new video card or if you assembled the PC, check if you installed the adapter(video) driver and the monitor driver. 4. Check if the scanning ratio of the vi deo screen is set at 56 Hz ~ 75 Hz. (Do not exceed 60 Hz when usi ng the maximum resolution.) 5. If you have problems in installing the adapter (video) driver, boot the computer in Safe Mode, remove the Display Adapter at the Control Panel, System , Device Administrator and then reboot the computer to reinstall the adapter (video) driver. Not Optimum Mode message!Check the maximum resolution and the frequency of the video adapter. !Compare these values with the data in the Preset Timing Modes Chart. Picture rolls vertically.!Check if the signal cable is securely connected. Connect it again securely. (Refer to Connecting the monitor ) Image is not clear. Picture is blurred.!Run Frequency Coarse and Fine tuning. !Turn on again after removing all accessories (video extension cable, etc.) !Set resolution and frequency to the recommended ranges. Picture image is unstable and vibrates.!Check if the resolution and fr equency set for the computer video card falls in the range supported by the monitor. If not, reset them referring to the current Information under the monitor menu and Preset Timing Modes. Ghost images are shown in the picture.
