75: Change the name of the picture. : Lock the picture to protect it from deletion, or Unlock it. Slide Show: Watch a slide show of all pictures in My Pictures. Use the Directional Key to select a time to display each picture, then press PLAY. While watching the slide show, control playback with the Left Soft Key Pause/Resume and OK Key. To close the slide show, press the Right Soft Key Done. File Info: View details about the picture. Sharing Pictures Send pictures you’ve taken or downloaded to your phone as an attachment to a Picture Message or Email, via Bluetooth, or post them to a blog or to Facebook. Note: Pictures protected by copyright, including the pictures pre-loaded on your phone, cannot be uploaded or sent as a message attachment. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Media Center ➔ Pictures ➔ My Pictures.2.Use the Directional Key to browse the list of photos. To view a photo, highlight the photo, then press VIEW. 3.While browsing and viewing photos, press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Send for sharing options. These options will only appear for pictures that can be sent, such as those you have taken with the Camera, or downloaded. 4.Choose an option: Picture Message: Create a new Picture Message with the photo attached. For more information, see “Creating and Sending Messages” on page 49. Via Email: Create a new Email with the photo attached. For more information, see “Mobile Email” on page 60. Via Bluetooth: Use the Directional Key to highlight pictures, then press MARK to mark them, or press the Right Soft Key Mark All. After marking, press the Left Soft Key Done, and follow the prompts. Media Center 76 To Blogs: Post pictures to a blog of your choice. Press the Left Soft Key New to create a link to a new blog. To Facebook: Post a picture to Facebook, using your personalize upload email address. You will need to set up your phone with your Facebook account before posting; for more information see the Mobile account information of your Facebook account. Camera Options Use Camera Options to customize your photos. 1.From the Home screen, press the Camera Key on the right side of the phone. – or – From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Media Center ➔ Pictures ➔ Ta k e Picture. 2.Press the Right Soft Key Options for options, then use the Directional Key to scroll Left or Right, and to configure options: Shooting Mode: Select Single to take one picture at a time, or Continuous, to take multiple pictures with each press of the Camera Key. : Choose a resolution for new photos, from 1280x960, 640x480, or 320x240. : Choose a brightness level (1– 9). White Balance: Choose a setting for the light source, from Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Fluorescent, or Cloudy. : Select a setting for measuring light before taking a picture, from Matrix, Center-weighted, or Spot. Effects: Choose an effect to add to photos, from None, Black & White, Antique, or Negative. Night Shot: Select On to adjust exposure for low light conditions or Off to use available light. : Set a delay between pressing the Camera Key and taking the picture. Viewfinder Mode: Choose to display icons or a guideline on the viewfinder.
77: Choose a mode for viewing pictures after you take them, from Full Screen or Standard Screen. : –Photo Quality: Set picture quality (Normal, Fine, or Superfine). –Review: Control whether the picture is displayed after you take it, before saving. –Shutter Sound: Play a click when pressing the Camera Key. –Auto Name: Turn On to have new pictures named automatically. –Shortcuts: View shortcuts for using keypad keys to quickly access Camera settings when taking a picture. Note: Some applications may require a subscription or charge at download. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Media Center ➔ Browse & Download. 2.The list of default applications displays. Use the Directional Key to highlight an application, or highlight Get New Applications, then press OK. 3.Follow the prompts to download and install the application. Note: Default applications include Backup Assistant Plus, Mobile E-mail, and VZ Navigator®. Since these are default applications on your phone, you can launch them from Browse & Download, or you are prompted to download the first time you select the application in the Menu. 79 Section 9: Tools Voice Commands Voice Commands is advanced speech recognition software that recognizes your spoken commands to dial phone numbers, create messages, and launch phone features such as Contacts, Calendar and My Pictures. To use Voice Commands, speak naturally into your phone, at a distance of 3-12 inches. There is no need to “train” Voice Commands, it is designed to recognize natural speech. At each step, Voice Commands displays a list of available commands. If Voice Commands does not recognize your command, it will prompt you to confirm. For more information about configuring Voice Commands settings, see “Voice Commands” on page 108. There are several ways to launch Voice Commands: From the Home screen, press and hold the Voice Commands Key. With the phone closed, press and hold the Speakerphone Key. From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Voice Commands. Using Voice Commands 1.From the Home screen, press and hold the Voice Commands Key. 2.At the prompt “Please say a command”, speak a command. Available commands display for reference: Call : Speak the name of a contact or a number. Send Message : Send a text, picture, or video message to a number or to someone in your Contacts List. Go To : Launch a Menu item. Check : Speak the name of an item to check its status. : Speak a contact’s name to display the record. : Open a search web page. : Call the last number you dialed. Hands-free Mode On or Hands-free Mode Off: Enable or disable Hands-free Mode.

Tip Calculator Calculate a tip and how much each person should pay. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Calculator ➔ Tip Calculator. 2.Use the Directional Key to move to each field: Bill: Enter the amount of the bill. : Enter the tip percentage. : Enter the number of people paying. Tip: Press to enter a decimal point. 3.As you enter numbers in the fields, the Calculator automatically displays the Tip, To t a l bill including the tip, and Each person’s share of the bill.
81 Converter Convert values you enter into selected units. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Calculator ➔ Converter. 2.Use the Directional Key to highlight a conversion type, from Te m p e r a t u r e, Length, Weight, Area, Volume, or Currency, then press . 3.Use the Directional Key to highlight the From units field, then press the Directional Key Left or Right to choose the units for conversion. 4.Use the Directional Key to highlight the From quantity field, then enter the quantity. Tip: Press to enter a decimal point. Press after a number to change the sign. 5.Use the Directional Key to highlight the To units field, then press the Directional Key Left or Right to choose the units for conversion. Calendar Schedule events, with reminders, so that you can track them. Set alarms for events to be alerted of an upcoming event. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Calendar. 2.From the Calendar screen, find an event: Use the Directional Key to highlight a date on the calendar. Press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Go To Date. Press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Search. 3.While viewing the event list, press the Right Soft Key Options for event options: Monthly View: Return to the month view. : Find a date on the calendar. : Delete the event from the calendar. : Delete all events from the calendar. Erase All Old: Delete events that are in the past. : Enter keywords to find an event. : Create a duplicate of an event. Send via Bluetooth: Mark event(s) to send as vCalendar object(s) to a Bluetooth device.
Tools 82 Adding an Event 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Calendar. 2.Press the Left Soft Key New. 3.On the NEW EVENT screen, use the Directional Key to highlight each field, then enter the details: : Enter the name of the event. and End Time: Enter the start and end times, then press the Directional Key to set am or pm. Start Date and End Date: Enter the starting and ending dates for the event. Recurrence: Press the Left Soft Key Set to set the frequency of the event. Alert Time: Press the Directional Key to choose a time period before the event that you want to be alerted. Reminder: Press the Directional Key to set a reminder. : Press the Left Soft Key Set to choose a tone. Press the Directional Key to choose whether vibration accompanies the Alert Tone. 4.Press SAVE to save the event. Alar m Clock Set up to ten alarms, to go off once, or periodically at the same time. Once set, alarms are easy to change or turn off. Note: The Alarm icon will appear in the Event Status line on the Home screen when the mobile phone has an alarm event. Setting An Alarm 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Alarm Clock. 2.For the first alarm you set, press ADD, then use the Directional Key to highlight fields to enter alarm details. For additional alarms, press the Left Soft Key Add to create a new alarm. 3.Configure options for the alarm: : Use the Directional Key to toggle the alarm On or Off. : Enter the time for the alarm. Use the Directional Key to select am or pm.
83: Press the Left Soft Key Set, then choose whether the alarm repeats: –Once: The alarm sounds only once at the specified time. –Daily: The alarm sounds every day. –Weekdays: The alarm sounds Monday through Friday. –Weekends: The alarm sounds Saturday and Sunday. –Custom: Choose days of the week for the alarm to sound. Snooze: Press the Left Soft Key Set, then set snooze options for delaying a ringing alarm. : Use the Directional Key to set a type of alert tone, and select a ringtone. 4.When you finish entering information, press SAVE. Disabling or Enabling an Alarm You can turn an alarm off to control whether the alarm goes off, without changing any other settings. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Alarm Clock. 2.Use the Directional Key to highlight the alarm you wish to turn off. 3.Press the Right Soft Key Options, then select Tu r n Off or Tu r n O n. Erasing Alarms 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ Alarm Clock. 2.Press the Right Soft Key Options, then select Erase to erase the highlighted alarm, or Erase All to delete all alarms. Follow the prompts to complete the action.

World Clock View the local time, and the time in time zones around the world. 1.From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Tools ➔ World Clock. 2.Choose a time zone with one of these methods: Use the Directional Key to scroll through the time zones around the world. Press the Left Soft Key Cities to select from a list of supported cities. Select a city and press OK to view your entry. 3.To select the displayed time zone, press OK. 4.To enable or disable Daylight Savings Time for the displayed times, press the Right Soft Key to toggle between DST On and DST Off.
