Williams House, Hailey Road, Erith, Kent, DA18 4AA SAHARA PRESENTATION SYSTEMS PLC www.saharaplc.com The Sahara Protector is the UK’s first totally secure projector and represents the ultimate in theft deterrent projection technology . The concept is stunningly simple. Familiar with car stereo front panels which can be easily removed when the car is parked? Well, Sahara has done the same for the Protector. After the initial set up the panel is removed and taken away from the classroom where the projector remains installed, working perfectly via the remote control. When not in use, the remote control is used to shut down the Protector, de-activating the lamp and projector engine. With the Protector now in standby, the power source remains constant ensuring the projector stays completely enabled. The projector is only disarmed when the power is interrupted, either by the plug being removed from the socket, or switched off at the mains. If this happens the Protector will not re-boot until the operating panel has been replaced. Each projector has a unique serial coded panel and will recognise only that. Replace it with an unauthorised panel and the projector will not work. Therefore, should a thief obtain a panel, they will not be able to re-boot any machine but its manufactured partner. Should the panel genuinely go missing, Sahara will be able to match the projector to the panel by the serial number and supply a replacement panel within a short time. The Protector comes in Bright Orange especially aimed at the educational market (although it is available in silver) to clearly advertise its unique security status. The body of the projector is also clearly labelled with a message that this projector will not work once removed from the power source and without the panel. Window stickers are also supplied with every machine to show that the projector inside is protected with the hope that the more these projectors are installed into classrooms, the more word will spread that it is pointless stealing a Protector as it has effectively no sell-on value without its corresponding security panel. Sahara is also able to offer any school the opportunity to personalise the start-up screen. Once burned in, the only way to change the screen is for it to be returned to Sahara for the change. Sahara anticipates this can be done at a small cost per machine, and this will be offered at the time of purchase.
