Although it has effective pixels of 99.999% or more, black dots or bright points of light (red, green or blue) may appear constantly on the screen. 3 When stand mounting the T V, use only • the supplied stand. Secure the stand to the T V tightly. Place the T V on a flat, level sur face that can suppor t the combined weight of the T V and the stand. When wall mounting the T V, use only a • wall mount that can suppor t the weight of the T V. Secure the wall mount to a wall that can suppor t the combined weight of the T V and wall mount. Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. bears no responsibility for improper wall mounting that results in accident, injur y or damage. Risk of injury to children! Follow these precautions to prevent the T V from toppling over and causing injur y to children: Never place the T V on a sur face covered • by a cloth or other material that can be pulled away. Ensure that no par t of the T V hangs over • the edge of the sur face. Never place the T V on tall furniture (such • as a bookcase) without anchoring both the furniture and T V to the wall or a suitable suppor t. Educate children about the dangers of • climbing on furniture to reach the T V. Risk of overheating! Never install the T V in a confined space. • Always leave a space of at least 4 inches or 10 cm around the T V for ventilation. Ensure cur tains or other objects never cover the ventilation slots on the T V. Risk of damage to the TV! Before you connect the T V to the power • outlet, ensure that the power voltage matches the value printed on the back of the T V. Never inser t objects into the ventilation • slots or other openings on the T V. When the T V is swiveled ensure that • no strain is exer ted on the power cord. 4 Disposal of your old product and batteries Your product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and components, which can be recycled and reused. When this crossed-out wheeled bin symbol is attached to a product it means that the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC . Please inform yourself about the local separate collection system for electrical and electronic products. Please act according to your local rules and do not dispose of your old products with your normal household waste. Correct disposal of your old product helps to prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. Low temperatures If the T V is transpor ted in temperatures • below 5°C , unpack the T V and wait until the T V temperature matches room temperature before connecting the T V to the power outlet. Screen care Avoid stationar y images as much as • possible. Stationar y images are images that remain on-screen for ex tended periods of time. Examples include: on-screen menus, black bars and time displays. If you must use stationar y images, reduce screen contrast and brightness to avoid screen damage. Unplug the T V before cleaning. • Clean the T V and frame with a sof t, • damp cloth. Never use substances such as alcohol, chemicals or household cleaners on the T V. 7 Switch channels Press • P/CH +/- on the side of the T V. Press • on the remote control. Press • to skip to the previous or nex t channel. Enter a channel number using the • Numeric buttons . Tip When you use a favorite list, you can only •select those channels in the lis t. At the channel list, press •to skip to the previous or nex t page of preset channels. 4 Use your TV This section helps you perform basic TV operations (see ‘Use more of your TV’ on page 10 ). Switch your TV on/off or to standby To switch on Press the • Power switch at the bottom of the T V. To switch on/ off to standby Press • ( Standby-On ) on the remote control. To switch off Press the • Power switch at the bottom of the T V. Tip Though your T V consumes ver y lit tle power •when in standby, energy continues to be consumed. When not in use for an ex tended period of time, disconnect the T V power cable from the power outlet. Note If you cannot locate your remote control and •want to switch on the T V from standby, press P/CH +/- on the side of the T V. English EN
8 Watch connected devices Note For easy access, add new devices to the home •menu before selecting them. Add a device to the home menu Connect and switch on devices before adding them to the home menu. 1 Press (Home ). The home menu appears. » 2 Press the Navigation buttons to select [Add your devices] and press OK . A message appears with » [Start] selected, prompting you to star t the add new device guide. 3 Press OK . Follow the on-screen instructions. » When the guide is complete, a new device icon is added to the home menu. 9 Use Ambilight 1 Press (Experience ). The experience bar appears. » 2 Press the Navigation buttons to select [Ambilight] , then press OK . 3 Press the Navigation buttons to select [On] or [Of f ] . 4 Press OK to confirm your choice. Tip When watching T V, you can also press • on the side of the T V to switch Ambilight on or off. To use Ambilight as a lounge light during T V •standby, press on the side of the T V. Set Ambilight active mode You can set the speed at which Ambilight responds to on-screen images. 1 Press (Experience ). The experience bar appears. » 2 Press the Navigation buttons to select [Ambilight active mode] , then press OK. The » [Ambilight active mode] bar appears. 3 Press the Navigation buttons to move the slider to adjust Ambilight response. 4 Press OK to confirm your choice. 5 Press to exit. Note Before you can change the Ambilight active •mode, set [Home] >[Ambilight] >[Colour] to [Dynamic] . More information and other advanced Ambilight features are availabl e (see ‘Change Ambilight set tings’ on page 15 ). Tip To avoid screen clut ter, remove devices from •the home menu when they are no longer connecte d (see ‘Remove devices from the home menu’ on page 11 ).
