Section 2: Understanding Your PCS Phone 2J: Using Your Phone’s Camera 103 Sharing Picture Mail Once you’ve taken a picture, you can use the messaging capabilities of your PCS Phone to instantly share it with family and friends. You can send a picture to up to ten people at a time using their email addresses or their Vision-enabled PCS Vision Phone numbers. Sharing Picture Mail from Review/Share Mode 1.Press for Camera. 2.Press for Review/Share. Ti p : To enter the Review/Share mode from the Pictures menu, press . 3.Select the desired image by pressing the navigation key left or right. 4.Press to enter Share. 5.Enter up to 10 mobile phone numbers, email addresses, or phonebook entries and press . Note: Use the navigation key to select between Phone #, Email: and From Phone Book to enter the desired recipients. 6.Press to record a Voice Memo or press to skip and continue. 7.Use your keypad to enter up to 128 characters in a text message (or press and select from Canned Messages or Recent Messages) and press . (See “Entering Text” on page 73.) You may also choose to leave the message area blank; just press to continue. 8.Press to Send the picture or to Change the share information.
Section 2: Understanding Your PCS Phone 2J: Using Your Phone’s Camera 104 Sharing Picture Mail from Messaging You can also share your pictures from your phone’s Messaging menu. 1.Press for Main Menu. 2.Press for Messaging. Shortcut: Press the navigation key up from standby mode to access the Messaging menu. 3.Press for Share Picture. 4.Press the navigation key up or down to select Picture Review or Take New Picture and press . 5.Take the new picture or select the desired image saved in memory. 6.To complete and send the Picture Mail, follow steps 5-8 in “Sharing Picture Mail From Review/Share Mode” on page 103. Storing Pictures Your phone can store pictures in two ways: Review/Share Mode (see below) Picture Mail Wallet (see page 105) Review/Share Mode Once a picture is taken, it is automatically saved to Review/ Share mode. Your phone enters Review/Share mode from the Pictures menu by selecting Review/Share. You may also enter Review/Share mode from Camera mode by selecting Review. In Review/Share mode you can view all the pictures you have taken, store selected images in your phone, send pictures to the Picture Mail Web site, delete images and access additional picture options. Picture Options Picture options allow you to set up different options associated with the images saved on your phone. When reviewing your pictures, press to display the following options:

Save to Wallet - Allows you to save the image to a wallet picture. Wallet pictures can be used on the idle screen or in address book entries to identify incoming callers by displaying the wallet image on screen. Upload - Allows you to upload your image to the web. Erase - Removes the image for memory. Edit Caption - Allows you to edit the caption of the image. Up to 32 characters can be entered to identify the image. Picture Info - This option displays the caption, time and date, resolution, size and quality of the image. Expand/Thumbnail - Changes the display to thumbnail or expanded view, which allows you to see several images at once or the whole image on screen. Picture Mail Wallet To save a picture to the Picture Mail Wallet: 1.Press for Pictures. 2.Press for Review/Share. 3.Using the navigation key, highlight the desired image. 4.Press for Save to Wallet. (A message is displayed that says “A screen size copy of this picture has been saved to Picture Wallet”.) 5.Press to return to the Pictures menu. To view pictures stored in the Picture Mail Wallet: 1.Press for Pictures. 2.Press for Picture Wallet. Tip: To display a thumbnail/expanded view of the wallet pictures, press . 3.Using your navigation key, highlight the desired picture. 4.Press to view the following options: Screen Saver to display the picture as an LCD screen saver.

Incoming Call to display the selected picture for all incoming calls. Erase to select Erase This or Erase All to erase a single picture or all pictures saved in the Picture Mail Wallet. Note: Pictures may be assigned to more than one task. Note: Press the navigation key up to view a picture’s file name and picture count at the bottom or top of the display screen. Managing Picture MailSM Using the Picture Mail Web Site Once you have uploaded pictures from your phone to your online Picture Mail account (see “Review/Share Mode” on page 104), you can use your personal computer to manage your pictures. From the Picture Mail Web site you can share pictures, edit album titles and picture captions, organize and move images, and do much more. You will also have access to picture management tools to improve and customize your pictures. You’ll be able to lighten, darken, crop, antique, add comic bubbles and cartoon effects, and use other features to transform your pictures. To access the Picture Mail Web site: 1.From your computer’s Internet connection, go to picturemail.sprintpcs.com. 2.Enter your PCS Phone Number and Picture Mail password to register. (See “Creating Your Picture Mail Password” on page 101.)
Section 2: Understanding Your PCS Phone 2J: Using Your Phone’s Camera 107 Managing Online Picture Mail From Your PCS Phone You can use your phone to manage, edit, or share pictures you have uploaded to the Picture Mail Web site. (See “Review/Share Mode” on page 104 for information about uploading.) To view your online Picture Mail from your PCS Phone: 1.Press for Pictures. 2.Press for Online Pictures. Depending on your settings you may be prompted to accept a PCS Vision connection. (Your Picture Mail Inbox and your albums appear.) Shortcut: Instead of steps 1 and 2 above, press . 3.Highlight Inbox or an album title and press to display. (Thumbnail pictures, up to four per screen, are displayed.) 4.Use your navigation key to select a picture. Tip: To expand a selected picture from thumbnail to full-screen, press for Expand. Sharing Online Picture Mail 1.From the online Picture Mail display, select a picture you wish to share and press for Share. (See “Managing Online Picture Mail From Your PCS Phone” on page 107.) 2.Enter a phone number, email address or select from your Phone Book. Note: Press to select Online Address Book or Recent List. 3.Press . 4.To complete and send the Picture Mail, follow steps 5-8 in “Sharing Picture Mail From Review/Share Mode” on page 103.

(See “Managing Online Picture Mail From Your PCS Phone” on page 107.) 2.Follow steps 3-6 in “Sharing Online Picture Mail” on page 107 to complete and send your Picture Mail. Accessing Online Picture Mail Options From Your PCS Phone 1.Select a picture from your online Picture Mail (see “Managing Online Picture Mail From Your PCS Phone” on page 107). 2.Press for Options. 3.To select an option, highlight it and press . Expand/Thumbnail displays the picture on screen either expanded or in thumbnail view. Save to Wallet to copy the selected picture to the Picture Mail Wallet. (See “Picture Mail Wallet” on page 105.) Erase to select Erase This or Erase All to erase a single picture or all pictures saved in the current album (or Inbox). Edit Caption to edit the picture’s caption. Copy/Move to copy or move pictures to a selected album: Copy This to copy the selected picture to the album. Copy All to copy all pictures in the current album (or Inbox) to the target album. Move This to move the selected picture to the album. Move All to move all pictures in the current album (or Inbox) to the target album. Album List displays a list of all the albums. Picture Info to display information on the selected picture, such as title, time/date, size, etc. Goto Picture automatically displays the image after you enter the desired picture number.
Section 2: Understanding Your PCS Phone 2J: Using Your Phone’s Camera 109 To access your online Albums options from your PCS Phone: 1.Display the album list in the Online Picture Mail menu. 2.Use your navigation key to select an album (or Inbox). 3.Press for Options. 4.To select an option, highlight it and press . Select Album to select the desired album. Create Album to create a new album. Enter a new album name and select Save (left softkey). Erase Album to delete the selected album. Rename Album to rename the selected album. Enter a new name and select Save (left softkey). Album Info displays detailed information about the album. Note: The Inbox cannot be erased or renamed. Next to display the next 20 albums (if applicable). Previous to display the previous 20 albums (if applicable).

Section 3: Using PCS Service Features 3A: PCS Service Features - The Basics 112 Using Voicemail Setting Up Your Voicemail All unanswered calls to your PCS Phone are automatically transferred to voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off. Therefore, you will want to set up your PCS Voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your PCS Phone is activated. To s e t u p v o i c e m a i l : 1.Press and hold . 2.Follow the system prompts to create your passcode, record your greeting, record your name announcement, and choose whether to activate One-Touch Message Access (a feature that lets you press one key to access messages and bypasses the need for you to enter your passcode). Note: The voicemail setup process may vary in certain Affiliate areas. Voicemail Notification There are several ways your PCS Phone alerts you: By displaying a message on the screen. By sounding the assigned ringer type. By the LED blinking red. By displaying at the top of your screen. New Voicemail Message Alerts When you receive a new voice message, your phone alerts you and prompts you to call your voicemail. To call your voicemail, press and hold . To display your Missed Log, press . Important: When you are roaming off the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network, you may not receive notification of new voicemail messages. It is recommended that you periodically check your voicemail by dialing 1 + area code + your PCS Phone Number. When your voicemail answers, press and enter your passcode. You will be charged roaming rates when accessing voicemail while roaming off the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Note: Your phone accepts messages even when it is turned off. However, you are only notified of new messages when your phone is turned on and you are in a PCS Service Area.
