The PC Software Package WV-ASM10 is designed to display images from multiple Panasonic network disk recorders and
digital disk recorders (hereinafter referred to as recorders), network interface unit (hereinafter encoders) and network cam-
eras (hereinafter cameras) connected to a network such as a LAN or the Internet, and runs on the Microsoft
®Windows®
operating system. 
Refer to the Compatible devices section on the operating instructions (PDF) for devices compatible with this software.
By using this software on a personal computer (hereinafter PC) via a network, it is possible to perform live image display or
the sequence display.

The operating instructions (PDF) on the CD-ROM contain descriptions of how to perform the required settings before start-
ing operation and of how to operate each function, for administrators (ADMIN users).
The network settings will be different depending on the settings of the LAN or the Internet service provider.
Refer to the network administrator for further information about the network settings.
The descriptions in the following pages are based on the assumption that Windows
®XP Professional runs on a PC.
Operation windows may not be the same as those appearing on the pages when a different OS is used or different set-
tings are applied.
When using the other OS, refer to the operating instructions of the respective OS.
Adobe
®Reader®is required to read the operating instructions (PDF).
When the Adobe®Reader®is not installed on the PC, download the latest Adobe®Reader®from the Adobe web site and
install it.

These are descriptions of the basic terms used in these operating instructions.
• Microsoft®Windows®XP Professional SP2 and Microsoft®Windows®XP Home Edition SP2 are described as Windows
XP.

*1 This software is designed based on the default style of Microsoft
®Windows®XP and Microsoft®Windows Vista®. 
When the display style or the font size of Windows®XP or Windows Vista®is changed from the default, it may be pos-
sible that the layout of this software collapses.
*2 When using Microsoft
®Windows Vista®, refer to Readme.txt for further information about the system requirements,
precautions, etc.
System requirement 
						

							Important:
• Before installing this software, make sure that no other Panasonic disk recorder management software such as WV-
AS65 or WV-ASM100 is installed on the PC. When the other Panasonic disk recorder management software and this
software are on the same PC, operations of this software will not be covered by the warranty.
• When reinstallation is necessary, uninstall the existing software before starting the reinstallation. An overwrite installa-
tion may cause unstable operations.
• It is unnecessary to perform steps 2 and 3 below when Microsoft
®Windows®Installer 3.1 and Microsoft®.NET
Framework 2.0 are already installed on the PC.
1. Insert the provided CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive on the PC.
2. Double-click WindowsInstaller3.1.exe in the folder 1 WindowsInstaller3.1.
→The installer of Windows Installer 3.1 will be launched. 
Install the software by following the instructions displayed on the monitor.
3. Double-click dotnetfx.exe in the folder 2 dotNetFramework2.0.
→The installer of .NET Framework 2.0 will be launched. 
Install the software by following the instructions displayed on the monitor.
4. Double-click SQLServerSetup.exe in the folder 3 SQLServer2005.
→The installer of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 will be launched. 
Install the software by following the instructions displayed on the monitor.
5. Double-click setup.exe in the folder 4 PC Software.
→The installer of PC Software will be launched. 
Install the software by following the instructions displayed on the monitor. 
When the Aladdin HASP… window is displayed in the process of the installation, click the [OK] button on the dis-
played window to continue the installation.
When installed with the ALL option, the executable files, etc. will be copied on a newly created folder C:\Program
Files\Panasonic\ASM10.
6. Configure the exceptional settings of Windows Firewall. 
Refer to the operating instructions (PDF) for further information.
7. Reboot the PC.
When completing steps1-6, reboot the PC to complete the installation.
Installation
*3 It is required that Microsoft®Windows®Installer 3.1, Microsoft®.NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft®SQL Server 2005
Express Edition SP2 are installed on the PC to use this software. It is necessary to prepare other disk space exclusive-
ly as storage for database in addition to the required disk space for installation of this software.
*4 The network settings on the PC must meet those of the network environment where the PC is connected. Operations of
this software on a PC with two network interface cards or more will not be covered by the warranty.
Important:
• This software must be installed or started by the administrator. Otherwise, any problems will not be covered by the
warranty.
• Operation of this software on remote desktop is not guaranteed.
• While running this software, do not log out of the PC nor shut down the PC. Otherwise, operation of this software may
become unstable.
• Do not use other applications, especially heavy load types, while this software is running. Otherwise, the CPU overload
and the shortage of resources will cause malfunction and insufficient performance.

Launching the software
Refer to the operating instructions (PDF) of the WV-ASM10 for how to launch this software.
Important:
• Insert the provided hardware key (USB dongle) into the USB port. When the hardware key is not inserted, this software
will not be launched.
• When the PC is not rebooted after installing this software, the hardware key sometimes may not be detected. Make
sure that the PC is rebooted after the installation of this software.
Uninstallation
Important:
• When this software is uninstalled, the setup data of this software will be deleted. When the setup data is necessary,
save the setup data before uninstalling this software.
• Microsoft
®Windows®Installer 3.1, Microsoft®.NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft®SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
SP2 will not be deleted even when this software is uninstalled. When it is necessary to uninstall them after uninstalling
this software, uninstall them in the following order. Otherwise, the PC may become unstable.

1. Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
2. Select WV-ASM10 from the presently installed programs and click the [Remove] button.
→The uninstall program will be launched and the wizard will be displayed. 
3. Uninstall the software by following the instructions displayed on the monitor.
