Installation Guide (For Professional Installers) Network Camera Model No.BB-HCM403A(PoE Ready) • Installation Procedures After preparing the Ethernet cable that has enough length, mount the cam\ era. The camera can be viewed in the least light requirement at 3 lx (defaul\ t). Use supplemental lighting for the dimly lit places. The camera can be viewed in the least of 0.2 lx in the color night view \ mode (see page 70 of the Operating Instructions on the CD-ROM), which may increase the refresh interval. Mounting and cabling instructions described in this Installation Guide f\ ollow generally accepted guidelines suitable for residential installations. In some areas, commercial and industrial installations ar\ e regulated by local or state ordinances. PQQX15558ZAKK0606JT0 Two ways of wiring the cables (Ethernet cable, AC adaptor cord, etc.) can be considered; wiring through a hole made in the ceiling or wiring without making a hole in the ceiling. Select either one of the two. Mounting on the Ceiling Wiring through a hole made in the ceiling Mounting Reference Diagram (Bottom View) 1Attach the Safety Wire to the camera with Screw B and Washer (S). Adjust the position and direction of the camera while you confirm that images are displayed on the monitor as you imaged. Attach the camera.Attach the camera firmly when mounting on the ceiling. Camera Direction Ceiling Plate B Necessary Installation Range Make sure to mount the camera firmly on the ceiling. Do not mount the camera on a weak ceiling. It is necessary to attach the Safety Wire so that the camera does not fall. The Ceiling Mounting Cover should be removed when removing the SD memory card (see page 127 of the Operating Instructions on the CD-ROM). The camera is intended for indoor ceiling use only. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or halogen light may damage CCD. The cameras MAC address and serial number are printed on the bottom of the camera. They are needed in order for camera configuration and maintenance. Record both of them for before mounting the camera.

Adjust the of the main unit to the of the Ceiling Mounting Cover.Move the Ceiling Mounting Cover in the clockwise direction until the of it fits to the of the main unit. Attach the Ceiling Mounting Cover. 9Slacken the Safety Wire and attach it to the ceiling with Screw C and Washer (L). Follow the previous steps 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Making a hole is not necessary. Remove the tab of Ceiling Mounting Cover and wire through the notch. Fit Ceiling Plate B to the mounting position and put marks. Make holes at the marks and put anchors (customer-provided) into them. Mount the camera. Note Connect the necessary cables to the camera, referring to Getting Started. Circle Tab (2 places) Fit the circle of the tabs to the circle of the holes, and then turn the camera clockwise until the tab hits the stopper. 1 2 Adjust the camera direction. Attach firmly with Screws A.40 If the AC adaptor will be used, hook the AC adaptor cord onto the Hook for AC adaptor cord. Keep more than 100 mm (3 15/16 inches) off the wall or other obstacles. Camera direction 100 mm (3 15/16 inches) Screws C (4 pcs.) (Length: 20 mm [13/16 inches], 4.0 mm [3/16 inches]) 2 Attach Ceiling Plate B more than 100 mm (3 15/16 inches) off the wall or other obstacles from its center. Attach Ceiling Plate B to the ceiling with Screws C. Make sure the camera is firmly mounted on a beam of wood (25 mm [1 inch] and greater) etc. When there is no beam, apply a board on the other side of the ceiling to make sure the camera does not drop. Wiring without making a hole for cables in the ceiling Ceiling Mounting when the material of the ceiling is mortar or concrete Washer (L)Screw C (Length: 20 mm [13/16 inches], 4.0 mm [3/16 inches]) Prepare anchors for 4.0 mm (3/16 inches) diameter screws for ceiling mounting. When drilling into mortar, be careful of pieces of mortar which may become loose and fall. To attach the Safety Wire, make a hole and put anchor into it. Stopper Pass the Safety Wire through Ceiling Plate A, adjust the dents on the camera to Ceiling Plate A, and then turn the screw to attach the Ceiling Plate A firmly.
