    ∫Playback
    1: Pictures being played are rotated and 
    displayed in an unexpected direction.
    The camera has a function to 
    automatically rotate and display pictures 
    recorded by holding the camera 
    vertically.
    (If you take pictures aiming the camera 
    up or down, the camera may recognize 
    that it is held vertically.)
     When [ROTATE DISP.] (P74) is set to 
    [OFF], you can display the pictures 
    without being rotated.
     You can rotate pictures with [ROTATE] 
    function. (P75)
    2: The picture is not played back.
     Is the mode dial set to playback [ ]?
     Is the card inserted?
     Is there a picture in the card?
    3: The picture played back looks rough. 
    Noise appears on the picture.
     Is the ISO sensitivity is high or is the 
    shutter speed slow?
    – Decrease the ISO sensitivity. (P65)
    – Set [PICT.ADJ.] to [NATURAL]. (P70)
    – Take pictures in bright places.
    4: The folder number and the file number 
    are displayed as [—] and the screen 
    may turn black.
     Is the picture edited with a PC or 
    recorded with the digital camera other 
    than Panasonic?
    This may also result if the battery is 
    removed immediately after recording or 
    by recording with the exhausted battery.
    – In order to delete the pictures 
    mentioned above, format the data. 
    (P83) (Once formatted, all the data 
    including the other pictures cannot be 
    restored. Confirm carefully to format.)∫TV, PC and printer
    1: The picture does not appear on the 
    television.
     Is the camera connected to the TV 
    correctly?
     Set the TV input to external input mode.
    2: When connecting to a PC, pictures 
    cannot be transferred.
     Is the camera connected to the PC 
    correctly?
     Is the camera recognized by the PC 
    correctly?
     Set [USB MODE] to [PC]. (P85)
    3: The card is not recognized by the PC.
     Disconnect the USB connection cable 
    and then connect it again with the card 
    inserted into the camera.
    4: The pictures cannot be printed with 
    the camera connected to printers.
     Is the printer supporting PictBridge?
    – You cannot print pictures with printers 
    which do not support PictBridge.

     Set [USB MODE] to [PictBridge (PTP)]. 
    (P85)
    5: Both ends of pictures are cut at 
    printing.
     Have you set the aspect ratio (P65) to 
    []?
     When you order photo studios to print 
    pictures, ask the photo studio if the 
    pictures can be printed with both ends.
     When using the printer with a trimming 
    feature or other feature which cuts out 
    both edges of the pictures, cancel the 
    feature for printing. The feature 
    depends on the printer used.
     Refer to the operating instructions of 
    the printer for details.

    1: Unreadable language was selected by 
    mistake.
     Press the [MENU] button and select 
    [ ] icon on the [ SETUP] menu to 
    set the desired language.
    2: The setting for the auto review 
    function is disabled.
     Is the camera in auto bracket (P42), 
    burst mode (P44), motion image mode 
    [ ] (P51), [SELF PORTRAIT] in 
    scene mode (P54), or is [AUDIO REC.] 
    set to [ON] (P67)?
    – In these cases, you cannot set the 
    auto review function in the [SETUP] 
    menu.
    3: When the shutter button is pressed 
    halfway, a red lamp sometimes turns 
    on.
     In dark places, the AF assist lamp (P68) 
    lights red to make it easier to focus on a 
    subject.
    4: The AF assist lamp does not turn on.
     Is [AF ASSIST LAMP] on the [REC] 
    mode menu set to [ON]?
     Are you taking pictures in a dark place?– The AF assist lamp does not turn on 
    in bright places.
     The AF assist lamp does not turn on 
    when [SCENERY], [NIGHT SCENERY], 
    [FIREWORKS], or [SELF PORTRAIT] 
    in scene mode (P54) is selected.
    5: The camera is getting warmer.
     The surface of the camera may get 
    warmer during use. This does not 
    cause a problem with the performance 
    or quality of the camera.6: The lens clicks.
     When brightness has changed due to 
    the zoom or the movement of the 
    camera or other, the lens may click and 
    the picture on the screen may be 
    drastically changed, however, the 
    pictures are not affected.
    The sound is caused by automatic 
    adjustment of the aperture.
    It is not a malfunction.
    7: The clock setting is reset.
     If you do not use the camera for a long 
    time, the clock setting may be reset. 
    When the message [PLEASE SET THE 
    CLOCK] appears, set the clock again.
     When you take a picture before setting 
    the clock, [0:00 0. 0. 0] is recorded.
    8: Colors that were actually not around 
    the subject appear on the picture.
     On the camera, color shift may appear 
    by the characteristic of the lens.
    This is not a malfunction.

    Limited Warranty Coverage
    If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or 
    workmanship, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company or Panasonic Puerto 
    Rico, Inc. (collectively referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length of the 
    period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original 
    purchase (“warranty period”), at its option either (a) repair your product with new 
    or refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with a new or refurbished product. The 
    decision to repair or replace will be made by the warrantor.
    During the “Labor” warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the 
    “Parts” warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. You must carry-in or 
    mail-in your product during the warranty period. If non-rechargeable batteries 
    are included, they are not warranted. This warranty only applies to products 
    purchased and serviced in the United States or Puerto Rico. This warranty is 
    extended only to the original purchaser of a new product which was not sold “as
