    Cordless Handset

With the cordless handset buttons facing you, the antenna is a narrow 2.6 inch long protrusion on the top right. Just
below the top on the front of the cordless handset is a shallow concave. This is the earpiece. The smooth surface
below the earpiece is the display, its upper edge is defined by a small ridge in the center of the cordless handset
below the earpiece. Immediately below the display, in the center of the cordless handset, is the NAVIGATOR KEY,
which is a large circular control with a corss-shaped concave and four activ e areas. The active areas are at the 12
    o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock positions. The 12 and 6 o’clock positions are the UP and DOWN keys
and also control volume during a call. The 3 and 9 o’clock positions are the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys. The 3
o’clock position is often used as “Yes” key during programming. These keys are also the EDIT and CHANNEL keys
    respectively.

To the upper left of the NAVIGATOR KEY, an oval button with a clipped edge is the TALK button. The oval button
below the TALK button is the MUTE button. The MUTE button is also the FUNCTION button. To the upper right of
the NAVIGATOR KEY, an oval button is the OFF button. The oval button below the OFF button is the CLEAR
button. The CLEAR button is also the INTERCOM or HOLD button.

Below these buttons is the keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a “nib” on the 5 button.
On the lower left below the keypad is the FLASH button. The FLASH button is also the CALL WAIT or VOICE
MAIL button. On the lower right of the keypad is the REDIAL button. The REDIAL button is also the PAUSE
    button.

The indentation between the FLASH button and the REDIAL button is the microphone.
Along the sides of the cordless handset are two indentations, which are parallel to the small ridge below the earpiece,
that secure the belt clip. The belt clip is a T-shaped plastic piece with two curved arms and one long arm. The belt
clip snaps into place with the small ridges on the curved arms locking into each of the indentations on the side of the
    cordless handset.

Further down the left side of the cordless handset, to the upper left of the TALK button, is the headset jack covered
with a little round rubber cap. This cap can be opened from front to back, and is not removable.

The 2 metal ridges at the bottom of the sides of the cordless handset are the charge contacts.

The battery compartment is on the back of the cordless handset (behind the keypad). Its upper edge is parallel to the
TALK button and the OFF button. The battery door can be opened by inserting a flat metal object in the slot on the
bottom of the cordless handset and pushing forward to release the lock.

    Base unit

With the base unit facing you, the antennas are on the left and right sides of the base unit and they should be
    positioned pointing upward.

On the left side of the base unit, the corded handset is placed on the cradle.

Immediately below the corded handset is a large rect angular textured area. This is the speakerphone.

To the right of the cradle, on the top of the base unit is a smooth rectangular area. This is the display. Below the
display is a long button. This is the VOICE MAIL button with an indicator to the left. Below this button are four
round buttons. The left-most one is the FUNCTION button. The FUNCTION button is also the EDIT button.
Immediately to the right is the CLEAR button. To the right of the CLEAR button are two round buttons with a
clipped edge. The left smaller one is the EXIT button. The right larger one is the NAVIGATOR KEY, which is a
large circular control with concave and four active areas. The active areas are at the 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock,
and 9 o’clock positions. The 12 and 6 o’clock positions are the UP and DOWN keys and also control volume up and
down during a call. The 3 and 9 o’clock positions are the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys. The 3 o’clock position is

often used as “Yes” key during programming.

Below these four buttons is a row of the three round buttons: The left one is the DIRECT 1 button, the middle one is
the DIRECT 2 button, and the right one is the DIRECT 3 button.

Below the row of these three buttons is the keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a “nib”
on the 5 button. To the right of the telephone keypad are four round buttons in a vertical column: The top one is the
PAUSE button. Below is the RINGER button. The third one is the LOCATOR button. The LOCATOR button is also
the INTERCOM button. The fourth is the MUTE button.

button. The FLASH button is also the CALL WAIT button. The right one is the HOLD button.

To the right of these buttons, an oval button is the DIGITAL SPEAKERPHONE button, with an indicator light to the
    upper left.

The base unit microphone is located at the bottom of the base unit between the FLASH/CALL WAIT button and the
    HOLD button.

    Charger unit

On the back edge of the charger is the AC adaptor alread y connected. The top of the charger has a large hole in the
center and slants down toward the front.

The hole is the cordless handset’s charging cradle which is about 2.4 inch wide and 2 inch deep. The two plastic
