Handset 
With the handset facing you, the antenna is at the top right. Below the earpiece is the display. Below the 
display, in the center of the handset is the NAVIGATOR, a large cross key consisting of UP and DOWN 
TRIANGLES on the vertical row, and RIGHT and LEFT TRIANGLES on the horizontal row. To the 
upper left of the NAVIGATOR key is the TALK button. To the upper right is the DIRECT button. To the 
lower left is the CHANNEL button. The CHANNEL button is also the FUNCTION or EXIT button. To 
the lower right of the NAVIGATOR key is the INTERCOM button. The INTERCOM button is also the 
CLEAR button. 
Below these buttons is the telephone keypad laid out in the conventional arrangement. Below the keypad 
on the left is the FLASH button. The FLASH button is also the CALL WAIT or PLAYBACK button. 
Below the keypad on the right is the REDIAL button. The REDIAL button is also the PAUSE button. 
At the very bottom of the handset are the charge contacts. 
The headset jack is on the left side of the handset, with a rubber cover. 
 
Base unit 
With the base unit facing you, the antenna should be straight up on the right side, toward the back of the 
unit. The left part of the unit is a cradle for charging the handset. The handset is placed in the cradle with 
either faced up or faced down. 
The control panel is located on the right part of th e base unit. The top area of the control panel slants 
downs towards the front and has grooves. This is the speakerphone speaker. The raised area below the 
speaker contains the display. Below the display is three buttons: on the left is the STOP button marked 
with a square. In the middle is the NEW MESSAGE  or SLOW TALK button marked with an indented  
						

							triangle. On the right is the round ANSWER ON button, with an indicator light above it (to the right of 
the display). Below these buttons, there are four buttons in a row. From left to right, they are the ERASE, 
GREETING, REPEAT and SKIP buttons. Below that row of buttons, in the center is a large shallow 
triangular depression with the LOCATOR or INTERCOM button. Above this button on the top of the 
depression is the IN USE or CHARGE indicator light. To the right of this indicator light are two round 
VOLUME buttons arranged in a diagonal. The upper right button increases the volume; the lower right 
button decreases the volume.
