With the handset facing you, the antenna is a narrow 2 inch long protrusion at the top right. Just below the
top on the front of the handset is a shallow oval concave. This is the earpiece. On the smooth surface
below the earpiece, there are three thin buttons. The left-most one is the MUTE button with an indicator
light just above it. The MUTE indicator light is also the TALK indicator light. To the right of the MUTE

INTERCOM indicator light. The right-most one is the PROGRAM button with the RECHARGE
indicator light just above. In the center below these buttons is the NAVIGATOR control, which is a large
rectangular control with four active areas. The active areas are the 12 oclock, 3 oclock, 6 oclock and 9
oclock positions. The 12 and 6 oclock positions are the volume control up and down keys respectively.
The 3 and 9 oclock positions are the right and left arrow keys. These are also the AUTO and CH keys
    respectively.
To the upper left of the NAVIGATOR control, an oval button with a clipped edge is the TALK button.
The oval button below the TALK button is the SPEAKERPHONE button. To the upper right of the
NAVIGATOR control, an oval button with a clipped edge is the OFF button. The oval button below the
OFF button is the HOLD button. The HOLD button is also the INTERCOM button.
Below these buttons is the telephone keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a
nib on the 5 button. On the lower left below the keypad is the FLASH button. The FLASH button is

The 2 metal ridges at the bottom of the handset are the charge contacts.

The headset jack is on the left side of the handset, at almost the same height as the top row of the buttons.
It has a rubber cover that can be opened by pulling down, and is not removable.

    Base unit
With the base unit facing you, the antenna should be straight up on the right side, towards the back of the
unit. The handsets charging cradle is on the left of the base unit. This is an inch deep depression. For
charging, the bottom of the handset gets put into the cradle with the handset buttons facing up. The unit
will beep when the handset is properly placed in the cradle for charging. The handset can be placed in the
cradle in an inverted position. Moving toward the back of the unit on the right of the cradle, there is a
large rectangular textured area. This is the speaker.
In front of the speaker to the left is a smooth rectangular area. This is the display.
Below the display is a row of 4 thin buttons. The left-most one is the MEMO button. Immediately to the
right is the ERASE button. The third button from the left is the REPEAT button. The right-most is the
SKIP button. The REPEAT button and the SKIP button are marked with a raised nib.
To the right of the display are two buttons in a vertical column. The thin button is the GREETING button.
Immediately below it is the ANSWER ON square button with an indicator light at the upper right. To the
right of the ANSWER ON button is the STOP button with a raised nib. On the right of the STOP button,
there is a large round button. It is the MESSAGE PLAYBACK button.
Moving down to the front of the unit, 2 thin buttons with a raised nib are the VOLUME buttons. The
left one is to decrease, the right one is to increase. To the left of these buttons, there is the IN USE
indicator light. The IN USE indicator light is also the CHARGE or HOLD indicator light.
