Model Number KX-TC1743B, KX-TC1743W, KX-TC1743F, KX-TC1743G or KX- TC1743PW 900MHz Digital Cordless Answering System Pulse- or -tone dialing capability Caller ID Compatible Handset With the handset facing you, the antenna is at the top right. Immediately below the earpiece is the display. Just at the back of the display is the speakerphone speaker. In the center below the display is the oval Navigator key, which can be pressed left, right, up, and down. Pressing it to the left sometimes means Channel Selection. Pressing it to the right sometimes means Edit. To the left of the Navigator key is the Talk Button. Below it is the Speakerphone button. To the right of the Navigator key is the Off button. Below it is the Hold, Intercom or Clear button. Below these buttons is the standard touchtone keypad. The star key is also the Tone button. Below the keypad on the left is the Flash, Call Wait or Playback button; on the right is the Redial, Pause or Function button. Between these buttons toward the lower part is the microphone. At the very bottom of the handset are the charge contacts. The handset jack is on the left side of the handset, with a rubber cover. Base unit With the base unit facing you, the antenna should be straight up on the right side, toward the back of the unit. To the left of the antenna is the speakerphone speaker. To the left of the speakerphone speaker is a cradle for charging the handset facing up or down.
In front of the speakerphone speaker, in the left, is the display. To the right of the display, is the Answer On button, with an indicator light below it. To the right of the Answer On button are two small oblong buttons: Repeat; and Skip. Below these buttons are irregularly shaped buttons: Stop; and New Message or Slow Talk. Below the display, are two small buttons: Erase; and Greeting. To the right of these buttons is the Caller ID indicator. Moving toward the front of the unit, in the center is the standard touchtone keypad. The star key is also the Tone button. To the right of the keypad are four half-circle keys in a st raight line. From the top are the Auto or Program button; Redial or Pause button; Flash or Call Wait button; and Hold or Ringer button. Below the Hold or Ringer button is the Speakerphone button with an indicator light to its upper left. On the left side just below the keypad, is a round button; the Locator or Intercom button, with an indicator light to its right. To the right of the button are two round keys in a straight line. The left key increases the volume; the lower key decreases the volume. At the very front edge, slightly right of center, is the speakerphone microphone.
