≥In this Owner’s Manual, “USB hard  disk drive” is indicated as “USB HDD”.If you connect a USB HDD (commercially-available) to this unit  by using a USB Connection Cable 
(commercially-available), you can copy motion pictures and still pictures recorded on this unit to a USB HDD.
It can also play back the scenes and still pictures copied to t he USB HDD.
≥ You can copy scenes and still pictures recorded with this unit  while maintaining the image quality.

∫Points to check before copying
≥When using a USB HDD for the first time, or using a USB HDD tha t has been used with 
other devices, first run [FORMAT MEDIA].
≥ Before copying, go to [MEDIA STATUS] to check the amount of fre e space on the USB HDD.
≥ In the following cases, copying may take longer:
jThere are lots of scenes
j The temperature of this unit is high
≥ If you copy protected scenes or still pictures, the protection  setting of the copied scenes or still 
pictures are canceled.

1Connect this unit to the USB HDD to prepare for copying. (l142)
2Touch [Simple copy].≥When [Copy selected files] or [Playback HDD] is selected, termi nate the connection with the USB
