    Use this unit as a wireless LAN device
    When using equipment or computer systems that require more reliable security than wireless LAN 
    devices, ensure that the appropriate measures are taken for safety designs and defects for the 
    systems used. Panasonic will not take any responsibility for any damage that arises when using this 
    unit for any purpose other than as a wireless LAN device.
    ∫Use of the Wi-Fi function of this unit is presumed to be in countries 
    where this unit is sold
    There is the risk that this unit violates the radiowave regulations if used in countries other than those 
    where this unit is sold, and Panasonic takes no responsibility for any violations.
    ∫There is the risk that data sent and received via radio waves may be 
    intercepted
    Please note that there is the risk that data sent and received via radio waves may be intercepted by 
    a third party.
    ∫Do not use this unit in areas with magnetic fields, static electricity or 
    interference
    ≥Do not use this unit in areas with magnetic fields, static electricity or interference, such as near 
    microwave ovens. Radio waves may not reach this unit.
    ≥ Using this unit near devices such as cordless telephones or any other wireless LAN device that 
    use the 2.4 GHz radio wave band may cause a decrease in performance in both devices.
    ∫ Do not connect to the wireless network you are not authorized to 
    use
    When this unit utilizes its Wi-Fi function, wireless networks will be searched automatically. When 
    this happens, wireless networks that you are not authorized to use (SSID*) may be displayed, 
    however do not attempt to connect to the network as it may be considered as unauthorized access.
    * SSID refers to the name of device that is used to identify a network over a wireless LAN  connection. If the SSID matches for both  devices, transmission is possible.
    ∫Before use
    To use the Wi-Fi function with this unit, you need a wireless access point or destination device 
    equipped with a wireless LAN function.
    ≥This unit cannot be used to connect to a public wireless LAN connection.
    ≥ Use a IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g or IEEE802.11n compatible device when using a wireless 
    access point.
    ≥ When using a wireless access point, we strongly recommend that you set a encryption to 
    maintain information security.
    ≥ When sending 
    scenes or still pictures, we recommend you use the AC adaptor. If you are using 
    the battery, we recommend you use a fully charged one.
    ≥ When sending motion pictures or still pictures on a mobile network or tethering, high packet data 
    fees may be incurred depending on the details of your contract.
    ≥ This unit may not connect to a wireless access point depending on the radio wave condition.

    ≥When sending motion pictures or still pictures with the Wi-Fi function, do not cover the Wi-Fi 
    transmitter with your hand. ( l9)
    ≥ When the battery indicator is flashing red, the connection with other equipment may not start or 
    the connection may be disrupted.
    ≥ The Wi-Fi transmitter may become warm when using the Wi-Fi function; however this is not a sign 
    of a malfunction. (l 9)

    By linking with Wi-Fi compatible devices, you can use the Wi-Fi functions of [Link to Cell], [DLNA 
    Play] , [Live Cast]  and [Home Cam] .
    Before using the respective Wi-Fi functions, check and prepare your device.
    ≥ For the operations and settings of your device such as the smartphone, please read the 
    operating instructions of the device.
    ≥ In this Operating Instructions,
    jThe smartphone and tablet are indicated as “smartphone”.
    A When connecting to a smartphone1 Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone. ( l126 )
    2 Check if the smartphone is an Android™ (NFC-compatible), Android (non-NFC-compatible), or 
    iOS device
    ≥ If a message asking you to touch the NFC mark on the device is displayed when starting up the 
    “Image App”, you can connect using NFC.
    If the smartphone is an Android (non-NFC-compatible) or iOS device, proceed to “Connecting to a 
    smartphone” ( l133 ) when you complete the preparation above. In the case of an Android (NFC-
    compatible) device, proceed to “Recording/playing back with Link to Cell operations” ( l137 ).
    BWhen connecting to a wireless access point1 Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g, or 
    IEEE802.11n.
    2 Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone. ( l126 )

    function and the preparations
    [Link to Cell]Linking with the smartphone, you can operate this unit from a remote 
    location.
    Caution:
    Be sure to pay special attention to the privacy, the Portrait rights, etc. of the subject when you use 
    this function. Use at your own risk.

    3Check if the smartphone is an Android (NFC-compatible), Android (non-NFC-compatible), or 
    iOS device in advance
    ≥ If a message asking you to touch the NFC mark on the device is displayed when starting up the 
    “Image App”, you can connect using NFC.
    When the preparation above is complete, proceed to “Connecting to a wireless access point” (l128 ).
    A DLNA-compatible Device
    1 Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g, or 
    IEEE802.11n.
    2 Check if the Device is DLNA-compatible
    When the preparation above is complete, proceed to “Connecting to a wireless access point” 
    ( l 128 ).

    Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g, or 
    IEEE802.11n.
    [DLNA Play]You can play back scenes and still pictures from this unit to a DLNA 
    compatible device connected to your home network.
    [Live Cast]Using the “LUMIX CLUB” and USTREAM services, you can broadcast live 
    motion pictures

    Check if your smartphone is compatible with the tethering function.
    2 Acquire a USTREAM ID/Password/Program on the smartphone or PC ( l127 ).
    3 Acquire a “LUMIX CLUB” ID/Password. ( l127).
    4 Configure the USTREAM broadcast settings on the “LUMIX CLUB” ( l127).
    When the preparation above is complete, proceed to “Connecting to a wireless access point” 
    ( l 128 ).
    1 Check if the wireless access point is compatible with IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g, or 
    IEEE802.11n.
    2 Install the smartphone application “Image App” on your smartphone. ( l126 )
    3 Check if the smartphone is an Android (NFC-compatible), Android (non-NFC-compatible), or 
    iOS device

    To use the Wi-Fi function, connect this unit to a wireless access point or smartphone via Wi-Fi.
    ∫About the status indicator and the connection status icon when 
    connected to Wi-Fi
    Connecting to a wireless access point
    Check if the wireless access point you are using is compatible with WPS.jIf the wireless access point is compatible with WPS:
    Proceed to the following [Easy Connection (WPS)]
    j If the wireless access point is not compatible with WPS:

    ≥ WPS is an abbreviation for Wi-Fi Protected Setup™.
    ∫ If this is the first time the Wi-Fi button is pressed.
    1Press the Wi-Fi button. 
    2Touch [YES].

    Connecting to Wi-Fi
    If the clock has been set for the first time, the confirmation message for the Wi-Fi settings will be 
    displayed. Touch [YES], and then configure the access point settings below.
    ALit green
    ≥ The status indicator is lit green while this unit is 
    connected to a destination device after completing a Wi-
    Fi connection.
    ≥ When Wi-Fi is disconnected, the status indicator is lit red 
    again.

    [EXIT], and set the connection again.
    Enter a PIN code to set the Wi-Fi connection
    1 Touch [PIN code] in Step 4.
    2 Touch the wireless access point to be connected.
    ≥If you touch [Refresh], you can search for wireless access points again.3 Touch [ENTER].
    4 Enter the PIN code displayed on this unit screen into the wireless access 
    point.
    ≥For further details, please read the operating instructions for the wireless access point.5 Touch [NEXT].≥A message is displayed when the connection is complete.
    ≥ A message is displayed when the connection attempt fails. Touch [EXIT], and set the connection 
    again.
    ∫ When setting from the Wi-Fi setup menu
    1Press Wi-Fi button.

    Enter a PIN code to set the Wi-Fi connection
    1 Touch [PIN code] in Step 6.
    2 Touch the wireless access point to be connected.
    ≥If you touch [Refresh], you can search for wireless access points again.3 Touch [ENTER].

    again.
    ≥ Confirm Encryption key of the selected wireless  access point if the network authentication is 
    encrypted.
    ≥ When connecting by [Manual Setting], confirm the SSID (Identification name), Authentication 
    method, Encryption type, and Encryption key (Password) of the wireless access point you are 
    using.
    ∫ If this is the first time the Wi-Fi button is pressed
    1Press Wi-Fi button. 
    2Touch [YES].
    3Touch [Manual Connection].
    4Select [Search for wireless network] or [Manual Setting].
    Confirming that the Wi-Fi connection is complete
