∫Handling of the camera
•Waterproofing is not guaranteed if the unit is subject to an impact as a result of being hit or 
dropped etc. If an impact to the camera occurs, it should be inspected (subject to a fee) by a 
Panasonic to verify that the waterproofing is still effective.

Charging the Battery
Use the dedicated charger and battery.•The battery is not charged when the camera is shipped. Charge the battery before use.•Charge the battery with the charger indoors [10oC to 30oC (50 oF and 86 oF)].

Inserting and Removing the Card

Sequence of operations
Press camera [ON/OFF] button.

The clock is not set when the camera is 
shipped. Set the date and time before 
using the camera.
Press the shutter button halfway to 
focus and then press it fully to take 
the picture.
